Has anyone here kept up with Westworld season 3? I am two episodes in. I was so utterly confused about how s2 ended I thought I was never going to jump back in. But I found some articles explaining in detail the ending of s2 and so I jumped in... so far very interesting.

If you are not confused watching Westworld, you are not paying attention.

It's funny you say that, I wasn't sold on the first episode. Not sure if it's the pandemic or they sold me, but we're 20 episodes in now ;)

I enjoyed it, very clever story line but the dubbing made it a little weird and the dialogue (translation to English maybe) was a little odd in a European kind of way. Apparently it's quite the phenomenon in Europe.

Watching “Reckoning” on Netflix. Part way through and has an interesting plot. Hopefully the last few episodes are just as good.

Season 5 Episode 10 - At the end PSU gets a mention.
Ty Burrell and Joe Madison have the're geneologies traced.

I just watched a sci fi show on Prime called The Lost Room with PSU reference in episode one. Two detectives travel through the room and end up at a live PSU game after the one detective says "Penn State is playing," it looked like they were playing MN in 2005 at the time.

A PLACE TO CALL HOME, very well done Aussie .production on Acorn. Six seasons set in post WW2
Sydney area with a Great Cast and storyline - you will want to binge!

Late entry: Hannibal on Netflix. A different telling of the Hannibal Lecter story. And Mads Mikkelsen does different take on Hannibal so you're not always comparing him to Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs. Hopkins was just there for a paycheck in Hannibal and Red Dragon.

Plus you get to see Laurence Fishburne break out some of his Morpheus moves in one episode.

My two favorites that were mentioned, the Expanse and the Last Kingdom.

I don't think I have seen it mentioned by Hanna on prime is pretty good but only one season. Sort of a Orphan Black feel to it. I would recommend Orphan Black but I don't know if anybody is streaming it for free.
FYI Hanna S2 drops on prime July 3
I enjoyed S1 enough to be looking forward to S2.

I do have prime. I was in the middle of season 4 of The Unit and it switched from free to paid. I was shocked at goes much a single season of Justified was.

Not sure if already posted, but FX moved all their content to Hulu - so some of the best shows in recent memory (Justified, The Americans, Fargo, Legion, Atlanta, etc.) are all there. Believe you can watch for 30 days for free before subscribing.

Another show that went underappreciated for a long time was 'Community' - the sheer anti-PCness of it should delight many (Netflix).

Last Kingdom....watched about half of the first season and just could not get into it, I wanted to but just couldn't. It was OK but was hoping for more. I like that genre (ie...liked GOT and Knightfall) so does it get better?

Also...can someone tell me about Vikings? poor man's GOT?

Really? Could you provide a few particulars? Just curious.
The actor’s physical characteristics and manner of speaking ( looking to the side, apparently his style because I have seen him in other shows). I expected Bosch to be leaner and more wiry ( he was a tunneler in Vietnam). The casting goes with an older version of the Bosch I recall. I wasn’t expecting a white haired late 50s, early 60s version. I also didn’t like that the production was set way forward and ignores his Vietnam War experiences which were critical to Bosch’s character. I’ll admit though that O just don’t see that actor as Harry Bosch. It was disappointing as I was really looking forward to the series. I guess Michael Connelly approves the casting so what do I know.

True Detective season 3 is extraordinarily good. I’m through 5 episodes. Season one was outstanding, was told to skip season two.
Season Two is not nearly as good as Seasons 1 and 3. However, I would say Season Two is worth watching. It is very different than 1 and 3, in terms of pacing (1 and 3 are very compelling from episode one, Season 2 doesn't hit its stride until later in the season), characters (seasons 1 and 3 focus on 2 people, season 2 has a broader focus) and setting (seasons 1 and 3 are in the south, season 2 is in LA).

But Season 2 is still better than 80% of what is on TV.

Ok... took your advice. S2 is pretty good, better than I was lead to believe. Shootout was intense for a guy that’s been in a few shootouts. E5 now. Thanks for setting me straight

"Banshee", the show is set in Central PA. It's definitely not for the intellectuals. It is pretty much 60 minutes of good old fashion violence. The first 2 episodes are somewhat slow. They are more about introducing characters. After that just enjoy.

Plus a little skinemax soft porn mixed in every now and then. And the weirdo Amish crime family.
my boss recommended this to me when we were traveling to China last year and I have been through 2 seasons and I think there are 2-3 more in the cue.

Yeah, it's five minutes of soft porn. Five minutes of dialogue. Then 50 minutes of A** Kicking.

Nice call out. A very underrated series, really unique and mysterious. I would say Carnivale and Lost Room are two of best that never got a real chance.

Babylon Berlin on Netflix

it’s a German made series which takes place in Berlin during the 1920s with lots of subplots and weird German fetish nightlife.

The English Game on Netflix

Its only one season and sort of a cross between Soccer and Downton Abbey. It focuses on the transition of soccer in England from a gentlemen’s amateur sport played by Eton and Cambridge to a professional sport enjoyed by all. It’s well acted and interesting.

so like a Mentos ad. Remember when those first came on - looked American but a little off. Then the soccer ball comes on screen and the tag line with a strange accent - “the freshmaker!”

They weren’t fooling anyone.

Finished Lost in Space. Like the new take on Dr. Smith, plus the special effects and set design are amazing. Wonder how much it cost to make.

For those into Thor, Ragnarok on Netflix was really good.

Hannibal was GREAT!!! Especially the cooking scenes! I'll never look at prosciutto the same way.

If you like espionage that's more in the John le Carre mold than say James Bond, there's a French series called The Bureau that's pretty good.
Subtitled only.
It's on Sundance channel and I think it may be available on Amazon.
