DJ by far the biggest name playing in the first Saudi tour event
Cocaine and a gold digging airhead wife ain’t cheap
You know she’s spending cash as quickly as he earns it thoughNot sure Wayne Gretzky's daughter has a need to gold dig.
I agree with a lot of your take here. I must admit I am heavily biased against Johnson. I find him incredibly dull witted, boring and noxious. This issue has me perplexed. Don't we get tons of golfers from around the world playing on the PGA tour? don't they often play in the Euro tour? Why is the Saudi tour any different?
I was shocked at the ferociousness of the attack the Golf Channel took on Michelson. Of course, as soon as somebody doesn't do their bidding, they are suddenly hooked on coke and gambling. Why didn't they expose that back when they were doing the PGA's bidding? Seems odd that they'd suddenly get virtuous. Why is a player playing out his contract with the Guardians and taking a huge payday from the Red Sox or Yankees OK if an independent PGA player not be allowed to play in another tour?
Good reading on Vijay Sing's issues with the PGA tour. The PGA publicly hammered him until it was proven he did nothing wrong. Then, the PGA figures "ah what the hell, no problem ruining his chances to get endorsements. We are the effing PGA dammit!".
time for the PGA to get taken down a few notches, IMHO>
That and they have been together for at least a decade. She was definitely one of the first big social media starlets but that was a long time ago.Not sure Wayne Gretzky's daughter has a need to gold dig.
I think the whole LIV issue seems to revolve around the fact that it isn't PGA or Euro. It is trying to replace them and use money to lure players away. This issue has me perplexed. First, LOTs of pros gamble big time. It is what they do. it comes with the uber-competitive package. MJ, Montana, Marino, Barkly, on and on it goes.I didn't follow it that closely, but I think Phil got hammered b/c not only was he signing on with the Saudis, but he was turning his back on the PGA - which made him - and minimizing the Khashoggi murder. And he is a degenerate gambler
All money is dirty! Look at the NBA and their love affair with China of all people!Saudi money is dirty (slavery, forced prostitution, etc.). They are using it to syphon off the best of the best players and on top off that they are planning to play events on PGA & Euro tour turf. PGA wouldn't mind as much if it was only a handful of events played in the middle east, Africa or Central & South America.
so is chinese money, but the NBA and Hollywood don't mind doing whatever the CCP government tells them to do in order to make money from them.Saudi money is dirty (slavery, forced prostitution, etc.). Yep!! Also, try to put this one together.so is chinese money, but the NBA and Hollywood don't mind doing whatever the CCP government tells them to do in order to make money from them.
yes, that is America today. feign outrage over something that you do yourself. It's the selectivity of the moral outrage that makes me laugh. I understand why the PGA and its partners want to snuff this out so badly.....
Phil's star has been in decline for a few years. For a long time, he was the mascot of golf traditionalists who loved the whole image he projected. He was the anti-Tiger; where Woods was profane and aloof to fans during competition, Mickelson was clean-mouthed and gregarious with the galleries. Phil was the nice, white, country club boy that fit the long held ideal. Behind the scenes, there were more than a few reports that Phil could be a d-bag when the cameras weren't on him. I can't recall the year, but when he blew a putt and stopped the ball to keep it from rolling off the green at the US Open, most of the golf talking heads stopped talking about him as an example of everything that was right with the game. Combine declining results, realization that the image wasn't that real, and the influx of young American talent on the tour, and the bloom is way off the rose.I didn't follow it that closely, but I think Phil got hammered b/c not only was he signing on with the Saudis, but he was turning his back on the PGA - which made him - and minimizing the Khashoggi murder. can you name me a star athlete who doesn't have "reports that they can be a d-bag?" I can't think of a single one. Media outlets make money from defaming stars. its just the way it is. Meanwhile, PM has been married to the same woman and is successfully raising a family while the guy you noted, Tiger Woods, was beaten by his wife with a golf club for whoring around with several porn stars and partying it up in Vegas.Phil's star has been in decline for a few years. As for the new tour, the PGA and DP World (aka Euro) tours are just doing what all established sports leagues try to do to upstart competitors - destroy them. The moralizing is just a weapon for that purpose
As a side note, I was once in a restaurant in Youngstown where the owner of the 49ers lived. There he was hosting a dinner with Montana, Ronnie Lott, and a friend. They were settling up a golf match with $20K per hole skins. I was two tables away, watched and could hear their conversation.can you name me a star athlete who doesn't have "reports that they can be a d-bag?" I can't think of a single one. There is a story that early in TW's career he was in Vegas at a club with MJ. Tiger fancied a young lady but being shy with the woman, he was hesitant. MJ was telling him to go for it. Tiger said 'why would she go with me?" Amd MJs response was "because you are ****ing tiger woods!"
DeBartolo was a billionaire and a dickwad. Knew a young girl about 21 yrs old that painted a sign for him. The agreed rice was $75. He paid her $50, laughed when she complained, and said ‘Sue me!’.As a side note, I was once in a restaurant in Youngstown where the owner of the 49ers lived. In the meantime, I know for a fact that Eddie D (who had the team taken away because he paid off politicians to get a gambling license in New Orleans) used to keep tens of thousands in his office. When a contractor complained he wasn't paying up, he'd go to the safe, take out half of the sum he owed them in cash, put it on the desk in front of them and say "Well, despite the contract, I think you only did work good enough for this amount. Now you can take it. Or you can sue me. And I am Eddie DeBartolo and will keep you tied up on court until you declare bankruptcy and I'll pay that half to your creditors and they will be happy. What do you want to do?"
Do you really know that? Or are you just speculating? There's a differenceYou know she’s spending cash as quickly as he earns it though
I saw Phil in action at while volunteering at the US Open at Oakmont. Let's just say that his treatment of the staff and volunteers was less than exemplary and leave it at that. None of the long-time volunteers were surprised and chalked it up to Phil being Phil. As for his personal life, there are plenty of stories about Phil's skirt chasing; he appears to be a bit more discreet, chase a higher class of skirt, and have a more accommodating wife than Woods had. Neither Woods nor Phil are saints by any means.can you name me a star athlete who doesn't have "reports that they can be a d-bag?" I can't think of a single one. Eyerollgo against the mass and run the risk of getting cancelled. What this world needs are a ton of people standing up and giving a great big bird to anyone that tries to cancel them. I think they would get more respect from the masses if they did.

Cool story. She spends more than you earn I'm quite certain.
On top of her family's fortune (Wayne's estimated net worth is $250 million) she makes plenty of money off endorsements/social media partnerships and modeling. She really doesn't need Dustin's money.
I am a big DJ fan. I just like his style. Impossible to rattle him. Aside from the Ryder Cup he has struggled the last 18 months or so. He isn’t putting well and maybe he fears he is starting to slip. So here is a guy that won his dream (Masters) plus another major achieved another goal of his (Fed Ex Cup) set a Ryder Cup record 5-0-0 and says maybe I have 6-7 good years and maybe get 1 win a year and if real lucky another major or I keep slipping just a little and win only 1 or 2 times. Or I go to LIV and what I read is he gets a guaranteed 125 million. He is already a solid Hall of Famer why not take a guarantee like that. I get the sense he is a political so all the Saudi money is dirty money is just BS to him. Who knows but I’ll root for him regardless. RE Paulina successful model rich and famous family has two kids with DJ and stuck by him when he struggled. Hardly a gold digger IMOI agree with a lot of your take here. I must admit I am heavily biased against Johnson. I find him incredibly dull witted, boring and noxious.
Yes, the PGA Tour is participating in selective outrage. If they made a deal with the Kingdom, they certainly would sweep Saudi’s misdeeds under the rug
Cool story.
Lets assume your assumptions are correct while assuming his assumptions are wrong! LOLyou’re the only one allowed to make assumptions here?
Post up that w2 if it bothers you.
If he is actually getting a gauranteed $125M to go play on the Saudi tour, tough not to go after that kind of money. Found the below on-line, so basically if that dollar value is correct he is going to double his net worth with that haul.I am a big DJ fan. I just like his style. Impossible to rattle him. Exactly The guy been on tour for 15 years and has the 3rd highest earnings ever. So someone comes along and says we will guarantee 50% MORE than your lifetime earnings just for playing our events instead of theirs. If he is actually getting a gauranteed $125M to go play on the Saudi tour, tough not to go after that kind of money. Dustin Johnson 2022 Net Worth
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Johnson has an estimated net worth of $50 million. The American has earned just over $72 million from prize winnings from tournaments, making him the third highest-earning golfer of all time.
Dustin Johnson Endorsements
Johnson earns around $11 million a year from endorsements. Adidas, BodyArmor, Hublot, RBC, NetJets, Perfect Practice, and TaylorMade are some of the top companies that are currently sponsoring Johnson. Adidas has a Dustin Johnson collection, where fans can purchase the full look, right from his shoes to his hat.
Oh I have little doubt she spends more than I earn. So does Kim Kardashian. I guess I’m not as enamored with conspicuous consumption and figuratively “showing your ass” for cash as you are. But bully for heryou’re the only one allowed to make assumptions here?

I don't understand the whole political objection stuff. China is as bad or worse than the Saudi's and every major USA sports leagues does whatever they say for money. Biden is going over to Saudi ARabia next week to beg for them to pump more oil. The admin is negotiating with Iran (way worse then Saudi) and willing to pay Iran billions of dollars to sign an agreement that Iran has already proven they will not follow.Well sometimes I wonder how much is enough but still you need to ask yourself if you don’t have personal political objections to the Saudi’s why not? What difference would it make to DJ if he won the LIV event in London or the Farmer’s Insurance event in Des Moine Iowa? I wonder can or would the PGA try and keep him out of majors like the Masters where he has a lifetime exemption or the US Open where he also has an exemption. If he could still play in 3 of the 4 majors AND pocket $125 million and any winnings from a $25 million no cut event why the heck not.

I hate Saudi Arabia, but I’m thinking the press is especially hot on their case because one of their own got dismembered on order of the Saudi Prince at the center of this golf start up. I mean I don't think I would goto North Korea to play but USA does tons of business with the Saudi's in all kinds of sectors.
And the President of China ordered millions of ethnic minorities killed and/or jailed which way, way, way worse then putting a hit out on one person. Doesn't make either correct but the point is stop with the Saudi outrage unless you are going to put that same outrage to china.I hate Saudi Arabia, but I’m thinking the press is especially hot on their case because one of their own got dismembered on order of the Saudi Prince at the center of this golf start up. Oh I’m with you. The NBA’s kowtowing to China is particularly loathesome, but the press hardly touches that anymoreAnd the President of China ordered millions of ethnic minorities killed and/or jailed which way, way, way worse then putting a hit out on one person. It went the way of outrage over China's behavior toward Tibet. Money can get a lot of people to look the other way.Oh I’m with you. The NBA’s kowtowing to China is particularly loathesome, but the press hardly touches that anymore
