Yes they do and some factories in Pa still gave their employees the day off. With the first day now falling on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the schools and factories will not have to close anymore that Monday.

born and raised. Southern York county. Always looked forward to that in-service day. Hell, if you went back to school Tuesday you were one of the few. So many farms in that area that most kids took off at least the first 3 days.

School I teach at still has first Monday off. Most kids that hunt will take Tues/Wed off too.
