Do you ever grow herbs? My veggies do fine but I cant get the herbs to grow. They germinate but then peter out. I have a heat mat.

Have a dozen about 8" tall. Put them in right after Super Bowl under grow lights in basement. Will move them to my sunroom soon.

What do you mean by 'peter out'? Is it damping off? If so, try letting the soil dry out some between waterings. Also, moving air helps so turn on a ceiling fan if there is one there or use a small fan to gently move air around. Grow several herbs and use them a lot in cooking.
