OT: Ex-NBA star Lamar Odom found unresponsive at Nevada brothel

"Foaming at the mouth," "vomiting," and "blood was coming out." (Out of where?) Really grim stuff. Wonder if that "herbal Viagra" stuff he was ingesting had anything to do with it.

Also, he was (at 6'10") apparently too tall for the medical helicopter to transport him. Not making that up.

This is what happens when you don't know how to handle success. Too much time on your hands, too much money, and having the "privilege" of never having to work for it!

A few years ago I was roped into watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians with my wife (I would have some wine and generally not give a crap what was on TV, and before Kim became obnoxious she was still very easy on the eyes). Anyway, there were some strange episodes with Lamar after he married Khloe - one I remember was him going to the dentist because of his horrible teeth, which everyone said was due to sugar, when in reality is was because of drug use. They also had his father on there from time to time and it was just depressing - he would pretend to care for Lamar when he called, but after all these years, Lamar knew these calls were just pleas for money. So, he would see and meet with his father only when his wanted or ran out of money. Certainly, being on that show, and in that family, didn't help.

NBA players do work hard. The problem is they never have to work smart. For most in professional sports is is almost the opposite. They are meant to listen and do as told. Doesn't mean it isn't work, just that the lack of regime is what seems to get most of them.

Lack of regime in the off season. Lack of regime after retirement.

I believe that's why so many get into broadcasting despite having tons of money. Shaq for example.

Lamar Odom overdosed on drugs, E! News has learned.

A source inside Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas tells us that "drugs were found in his system," and doctors are treating the situation as an "overdose." Lamar remains unconscious and on a ventilator but is still alive. It also appears that the former Los Angeles Lakers player suffered from a "loss of oxygen but also possible stroke."

"So, likely there's brain damage, but they're not sure how much," the source adds. "Virtually every drug imaginable was found in his system."

Lamar appears to have suffered an "ischemic stroke," which is caused by a blood clot preventing blood flow to the brain. This type of stroke is often associated with a cocaine overdose, among other drugs. Our source adds that Lamar "had been partying since Friday."

"He was doing crack cocaine all weekend and he choked on his mucous," the insider explains. "They're now having to fix all the damage it has done."

Good god WTF?!

So Lamar left the Kardashian Brothel and migrated to a more legitimate Nevada brothel....

You should read up on your history. He was actually a pretty amazing story. But in the end, his demons still got him. Shame. He ended up "privileged" but it didn't start out that way. One would hope he could have gotten out of the cycle but unfortunately the NBA and LA lifestyle is conducive to excess for those not strong enough to break out of it.

Sad.

Who was it that blew 50 grand in a "gentlemens" club on food, drinks and a party?

Dead from a crack cocaine overdose in a brothel. That is certainly an interesting way to die.
