The Pot Still is listed at $77 at our local store.
Puts it in the category of Red Breast, Green Spot, Teeling.

Isn't almost t all Irish whiskey same company? -- thought Middleton, Jameson, the Spots (red, yellow, green) are all the same house - kinda like suntory for Japanese. Not sure if same distillery or different. Been looking to get into a Middleton very rare bottle, but don't see them out there too often.

You have to order Middleton in Pa and most other places. Last bottle of Middleton I saw in store was in Binghamton over a year ago and it was $150.

Ya, I believe Jameson owns Redbreast and Green Spot.

“we’re lake people”
It’s because they get to buy their next one!! Some people will never understand
Haha. Moms wants to move to Rehobeth Beach THIS summer. A few months ago we were on a 5 year plan. The cobalt is a great old lake boat but it’s gonna be a lousy ocean boat:mad:
im gonna sell it without asking and buy a fishing boat:)

Why you want a ride in the boat??
Wouldn’t mind one. My uncle had a boat on the bay and he’d take us kids out every summer. My grandparents had the beachfront house on Dagsworthy Street in Dewey, across the street from the Life Saving Station. You can see it in the old pictures of Dewey, huge house. I’ll search for it.

As you probably know, I visit Rehoboth and Dewey quite often. Rick seems to be potential good company.

Iirc 25 yrs ago on the ‘main’ drag at Dewey there was a roadside shop called ‘nicks’ I believe. Great cheese steaks or it seemed that way at 2 am!!

My new update on my WineAccess bottles that arrived recently

Really enjoyed this 'white label' Chardonnay. They claim it retails for $55 under its usual label but just $18 now. Great balance of the toasty oak you expect from California while still keeping enough acidity that it doesn't taste cheap

Very solid Tuscan red blend (25% each of Merlot, Sangiovese, Syrah, Petite Verdot) that is perfect for midweek pizza, chicken, pasta.

Haven't had this one yet, but it's next on my order list. 96 point Jeb Dunnuck Rhone blend (mostly Grenache). Very unique blend where the winemaker blended across vintages (from 2010 to 2017) so he has to advertise it as 'non-vintage.' Reviews sound fantastic though

50 off your first order over 150 if you sign up via the below. Free shipping on 6 bottles or 120 order and you can often get discounts with AmericanExpress and/or Rakuten

Not the best quality, but it's a copy of what I have myself. I bought it off Max, the proprietor of the Sunrise Restaurant in Dewey. My maternal grandparents' house is the big house beachfront to the immediate left of Dagsworthy Street, which goes down the middle of the picture. Got hella beat up in the Ash Wednesday Storm of 1962, torn down in 1980. A lot of love in that house. I was born early in the morning on a Friday in June and at 7am my dad called his in-laws in DC to let them know. No answer. He thought, where could they be at 7am on a Friday? Ah, yes, and then he called Dewey Beach, my Aunt Debby answered.

My mother was born in 1931, gone now for over fifty years. I like to imagine that she's in the picture.

Sorry for poaching off the Spirits Thread.

Something to be said for being first. I think about that a lot when I see folks who bought river view row homes in Alexandria 40 years ago...

I thought the same thing about the people who bought houses in Federal Hill, here in Bmore, years ago and had great views of the inner harbor....and then the new highrise went in across the street and blocked the views.

I'm not much of a bourbon drinker (gin, vodka, tequila, rum and scotch whisky are my preferred boozes), but I just received a gift of a bottle of bourbon from a client, so I thought I would ask the AKB about it.

It's a 750 ml bottle of "Barrell Craft Spirits Bourbon." The label indicates that it was aged 15 years. Fifteen years is a decent but not extraordinary length of time for a scotch whisky to age. I have no idea whether aging times for bourbon are comparable. The label also lists the bottle number, as if to indicate it was part of a particular lot. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Anyone familiar with this particular bourbon? Should it be used for sipping, mixed drinks, or what?

One review I read was really positive. It’s pretty pricey, so I’d stick to having it neat or in booze forward cocktails (old fashioned, Manhattan).
