I know this board loved its " Jukebox " threads.

Adding to that a friend sent me the video of the song as produced by

Erica Elizabeth Ravenwood. It's on YouTube. It's 8:39 long.

Erica Elizabeth Ravenwood American Pie.

Nice reminder of some of the 60s to me. Great song by Don McLean.
As a non linker, and if interested, Google and enjoy.
T'was a great time to spend 6 years on campus for me.

Enjoy your day.

,,,cheers

Except Don got it a little wrong...some music indeed died... but one hell of a lot of great music lived on....

Wooden Ships.....
Cats in the Cradle....
Fathers and Sons....
Sugar Magnolia....
Sweet Melissa....
Sweet Judy Blue Eyes....
Bridge over Troubled Waters....
.... Where does it end.

Thought American Pie came out in the early 70's. There was an unsubstantiated rumor about the origin. Jim Croce from Drexel Hill was neighbor of mine. He and Don McLean were friends at Villanova, possibly roommates. There was a theory that Croce helped with writing of the song. Last time I saw Croce, he was performing at the Riddle Ale House.

For you young whipper snappers who don’t know the song, or the tragic plane crash that killed three big rock stars.....here’s the story. Pretty interesting as Waylon Jennings and Richie Valens were supposed to be on the plane.

👍👍
thank you ....such a great time to live
