By the Guardians Josh Naylor. You may recall him from last year. He severely broke his ankle in a collision on June 27th of 2021. It was one of the more horrific injuries to watch (his foot was backwards). Well, he is playing about 50% of the games and is batting .338. Last night, he hit a grand slam with two outs in the ninth to tie the game. This was after an RBI Double. In extra innings, he hit a three run homer to win it.

That is 8 RsBI in one game. A game where the guardians were down by 6 runs entering the ninth inning.

Here is his celebration after the extra inning dinger.

Go Tribe. They will always be the Tribe to me. Too many childhood memories of going to games at Municipal Stadium. I even got to walk around the inside of the park on the warning track on a Little League Day (played the Tigers). Saw Mantle in the middle 60's. Still have a bat from bat day that says "Go Indians" on it.

What's the latest with Baker?

the Browns screwed themselves. Like Baker or not as a super bowl QB, the guy was at least functional as a QB. Especially true given he played all of last season with a torn labrum. If he should have played that is on the coaches, not him.

Now they are screwed. He is owed $18m. I'll be surprised if he ever wears the uniform again. Every other team knows that the Browns will need to cut him, having to pay the $18m, so why make a trade of any value? In the meantime, sure looks like Watson won't be playing a lot of football in 2022. He could easily be forced to sit out the entire season as his civil suits won't be heard until November. He is arguing that he's already served a one-year suspension but I'll be surprised if he plays in any of the first 8 games (half season).

As for Baker, he is just going to collect a paycheck. If he shows up to get his $18m, it will be a huge disruption to the team. They have to part ways with him, IMHO. So the Browns will either cut him, or trade him for next to nothing while picking up at least half of the $18m.

Thanks Obi. I thought he was an above average quarterback that would get better. Also wouldn't hurt to get better players around him. How many quarterbacks are Super Bowl quarterbacks? Any QB can't do it alone.
Not a quarterback, but look a Saquon. You don't think he would love to be on a team with a good line.
My nephew and family that live in Cleveland are down for a visit in July so I will get caught up on the Cleveland sports scene.

Agreed. Drives me nuts when a football game is billed as "Brady versus Garropolo". lIke there are no other players on the field. Regardless, The 2020 Browns were one play away from the AFC championship game. The 2021 Browns had effectively lost 3 of their 5 starting OL and had both (older) WRs limping along (OBJ and Landry) while Mayfield had a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder. I don't understand the panic at QB to be honest. Are there better QBs? Of course, but not one that was available. Now they spent $250m on a player that may not play in 2022 and gave up three first round draft picks. Crazy stupid, IMHO.
