Well they are better than we are last 20.

But writers and talking heads don’t talk about us being another Bama every year like they do LSU...which was the whole point of this thread discussing an article that didn’t list us as one of Auburn’s toughest five games....yet they do list LSU (of course)....that’s kind of the point. And they didn’t have more success the four years prior to Burrow, which is what I was talking about, not 20 years ago.

2 National championships in 20 years sounds mighty fine to me. Last time we got there was 27 years ago unofficial and 35 years ago official.

It's actually 3 in 18 years. (1 of which can be attributed to Saban)

Franklin is 60-28 since coming to Penn State.

LSU is 64-24 over the same period.

They have the best season in this time frame, but we easily have #2-#4 and a case could be made for #5.

None of this takes into account for sanctions. LSU would be hard pressed to go 7-6 if faced with similar sanctions.

At the end of the day, it seems more likely that we'll be a 2-loss team than LSU. While I'd gladly trade our 2-loss years for their national title and 3-4 loss years, the fact remains that we've been right there with them and with both of us coming off 5-loss years, both should be judged by the body of work.

Hard to argue with Alabama, LSU, Georgia games. TA&M? OK but they were overrated last year, with FL win looking great early. Gators collapsed at end and were mediocre. Ole miss is tougher than at PSU..cmon...
