We are 2-3 years away on the OL and DL. Barkley needs another year. He needs to learn to get the tough 3 years.

This ^^^. Clearly they did not learn from the Rose Bowl. Prevent defenses do nothing but guarantee that the other team will zip down the field to score quickly.
The issues with poor play calling and inability to grind out a tough first down continue. Can't ignore them just because you're still beating Northwestern or Akron easily because eventually they kill you in a game like today.
Yeah, not easy to justify this loss. Defense was exposed today. I felt uneasy at half time because OSU was running almost at will. Still, no way they should have lost with two 18 point leads.
Incredibly disappointing. They should've owned the game with their superior OL and DL, yet we had it in hand. Apparently, we learned absolutely nothing from the Rose Bowl. It was a replay, with the exact same mistakes.
Even if we won we all saw the lines are not up to par with the bamas and clemsens of the world and we would’ve been figured out in the playoff. Too bad JM did not pass his way out of the blitz.

The difference is that Ohio State has too many lackies pushing for their inclusion in the playoff picture. No one is going to do that for Penn State. Just watch.

Barkley had 21 carries for 44 yds. 36 yards on one carry which means a total of 8 yards on the other 20 carries.

Calling that stupid running play that loses yardage 80% of the time over and over isn't smart coaching. 2nd and 13, 15,17 how many times.

That's what I was looking for. I think this QB needs the perfect throwing lane to try this, but he has half a dozen of 6 foot 2+ receivers!!!!

Its not the loss to a good OSU team and a brilliant performance by Barrett that hurts. It's squandering a two score lead with 11 minutes remaining by expecting a defense to suddenly emerge from nowhere and a run game on offense to suddenly appear out of thin air.

Exactly. The passing game and QB run (off the pass) was there all game. It was clear we were not going run on them.
I for one can't wait for Moorhead to leave. Have someone else come in, keep 70% of system but be more open to other schemes

Yeah. Refusal to try new things and predictable play calling sunk us. Not sure when we’ll be in a similar position to get to the NC game.
Taking a handoff while standing still behind an offensive line that is getting mauled is asking for trouble. Not the way to attack a defense when you need to move the football to win the game.
And I think only one pass to Barkley . And no Tommy Stevens plays.

The coaching staff was a disaster today. After the fumble recovery PSU had almost no chance of losing the game. They ran idiotic plays and started trying to run out the clock with more than 7 minutes left.
God Forbid we not play him against the ranked teams when the game is still close. Worried that he's gonna make a rookie mistake CJF or CJM? Again, no confidence in playmakers that can make plays.
Like throwing it down the field and letting our talented receivers make plays. Where was that in the 4th quarter? Have some faith in our guys coaches!
