YOU asked for it**….I DELIVER. For the 4th consecutive year I am posting my Recruiting rankings using the formula I keep tweaking in the hopes that it will not only rank the recruiting classes by numerical order but also assign a numerical value to each team's recruits that will (hopefully) accurately predict the ratio of points you can expect from the class. So if team A has 400 points and team B has 200 points......then you can expect Team A's recruits to double the NCAA output of team B. It doesn't mean they will score 400 points...…..it is a ratio. From looking at the production of top 10 recruits at NCAA and comparing it to the production of those ranked 11-20 and 30-40 etc......I have been trying to come up with a formula that will predict success based on previous patterns. There has been a LOT more data produced on this subject in the last 4-5 years so it should be easier to test. I have used mostly the more recent data because I think the rating agencies are getting better at ranking because there are so many opportunities for the quality wrestlers to perform.....and compete against each other.......therefore better/larger database to assign rankings.
The trick is to assign point totals that reflect the production disparity of top 10 recruits as compared to the 11-20 and the 21-30 group etc. The point scale I chose is heavily weighted towards the top and goes down at a rate that is supposed to emulate actual results of each group. Here goes:

I used FLO's Big Board 2020 rankings ( SORRY WILLIE ) and assigned points accordingly ( after a few test runs ):
Speaking of FLO....did anyone notice that FLO started using a similar system last season? A few years late to the party :)

1. 150 Pts ....... 6. 121....... 11. 105
2. 142 .............. 7. 117....... 12. 102
3. 135 ........... .. 8. 114....... 13. 100
4. 129 .............. 9. 111.......
5. 125 ............. 10. 108
From 14-20......drop 2 points each placement. So #20 is 88 points. After that......drop 1 point per placement.......Giving #100 6 points Got it? This year's results:
TEAM:...….……….. TOTAL POINTS FLO RANKING OF RECRUITS
1. Oklahoma State........424..................10-11-13-54-63-90

Btw, not too apart from Flo's rankings released just a bit ago. I think they weight the top guys a little heavier than you do (one time I agree with Flo rankings).

It's easy when they just copied and pasted mine :)
Also...….I didn't just give a rankings order...….I assigned a numerical value for each recruit and each team......hopefully as an accurate predictor of college success.

Seriously.....after Oklahoma State.....the next 4 can be interchanged any way you choose and you would have a lot of ammo to justify it. Iowa and North Carolina got more recruits but the others have quality....possibly more. Would ANYONE actually trade Penn State's recruits for North Carolina's? Mathematics say they are equal. More quality recruits = more opportunities to hit winners. Common sense....at least mine.....probably not. If you change Cornell and Nebraska...no argument from me. 8 through 14 is also a bit of a crapshoot. Braxton Amos may score more points by himself than all of West Virginia's recruits......just like Vincenzo did. What is interesting is that I started doing this years back precisely because I thought the elite guys were not getting enough credit or being weighed heavily enough. Last year FLO finally adopted a similar system as mine......at least Andrew Spey did......not certain about Mr. Hite's Rubric......so I would expect more similarities than the first few years I did it. It is always fun to predict which recruits you think will outperform their "Big Board" rating....and look back in a few years and see how we did.

That's some bad news for the Minnesota part of Jammenz.

Well...….Ohio State got Zero this year but nobody is thinking they are going to stink. The last two years they cleaned up. Penn State had only one significant recruit the year they signed Starocci. Same as the year they signed only Vincenzo. Remember....FLO had PSU's class ranked 18th the year Vincenzo signed. My rubric would have had them much higher. Even then....probably still too low.....that is how GOOD Vincenzo was. Minnesota did really well last year so it often evens out with the really big programs. You can fight it out with Jammenz to decide if Minnesota is still a big program :)
