a guy named Rick Finotti who coached Cleveland St. Ed's. He started in 2009 as HC, won TWO state championships and finished with a 62-15 record. he will be director of football operations for UM.

Gauntlet thrown down for recruiting in NE Ohio. Statement made.

Rick Finotti

Is the director of football operations allowed to recruit?

I'm sure they somehow get involved, but are they allowed to go on the road?

unless he is designated 1 of the 9, then no he cant go off campus

in theory he cant coach on the field either.

Interesting drama...

but Cleveland has been good to Michigan for decades. Heck, I think if you rattle of some of the most popular players Michigan has ever had they've probably been from Northern Ohio and the CLE area.

It's certainly entertaining, but not like you can expect Meyer to back down at all. These two are going to have their egos colliding like super novas.

Well, Mich hired Rashan Gary's HS coach. :) So, I guess Gary goes to Michigan. Actually, I expect Michigan to be, as always, difficult for us to recruit against. OSU not so much.

The guy from St. Ed's will be persona non grata in Ohio from now on.
Ohio guys who go Michigan are never mentioned again around Cleveland.

I'm going to make a wild guess, and say that

anybody who graduates with a Michigan degree, sets their sights higher than getting a job in Cleveland.
