Men's NCAA Lax Quarterfinals

Interesting to see that none of the quarterfinal games were very competitive. Usually, games are pretty tight at this level of lax. Denver obliterated Norte Dame, behind something like 21 of 22 face off wins by Baptiste. This is where PSU needs major improvement-- if Penn State can win 50 percent plus of its face offs against top competition, they can go far in the playoffs.

Also nice to see Towson St dominate Syracuse. The final 4 this year is Denver vs. Maryland and Towson vs. Ohio State. I'm hoping for a DU-Towson final.

Very happy about our first trip to the Final Four since 2001. Scored 6 goals in the first quarter, which was more than we scored in a couple of games this season. Taking advantage of Syracuse's dumb penalties was also a big help and we got a couple of key saves late when Cuse had it to 10-6 with plenty of time to really make everyone nervous. We've already played Ohio State this year, losing to them in the coldest game ever because we got shutout in the 4th quarter after being up for much of the first 3. Also saw Denver at home earlier in the year and got beat pretty good because their faceoff game was outstanding. Looking forward to a fun game in Beantown on Saturday and hoping to steal another one. Loyola won a title a couple years back, now maybe it's finally our turn.

We thrashed To$U this year, 9-4. What our young team needs to do is find consistency. The great news is that the team is young and will only improve. Tambroni is doing an excellent job of building the program. Some people want it done faster but consistent success takes time to achieve. Hoping either UMD or Towson take the championship. Both are playing excellent defense while doing enough on offense. UMD has the depth. Good to see the growth of the game. Hoping the west coast D-1 schools get on board the lax train!
