An altered state
Volcano near Tonga sparks tsunamis across the Pcific but they will be around 2-3 feet in some areas. Mostly harbors and lowland affected so make sure you yacht is tied off well!

Some awesome pics. Plume 3 miles wide and 12 miles high.

 
This was taken before yesterday’s big boom. This island probably no longer exists!

Some pictures of the devastation. Said a fifty foot wave swept over the island.


 
NASA is now saying the Tonga volcano explosion was more then 600 times more powerful than the Hiroshima atomic bomb. It was so loud it was heard in Alaska over 1000 miles away. Said it was the loudest eruption since Krakatoa in 1888.

One good thing is that it spewed ash for only one hour instead for days like others have.

Water and magma don't mix well and create some extremely violent and impressive explosions due to all the added gases and vapors. The silica rich magma present there also creates explosive eruptions, similar to Mt St Helens. The opposite of the typical Hawaii volcano.
