It’s time- I think Levi is going to do well against some College competition. It was so smart for him to take this season off of HS and focus on these types of open. We got a great one with Haines.

Is the PIAA starting to get over looked and not that big of a deal anymore? We are starting to see more and more wrestlers not compete their senior years (Haines, Gibson, Crookham, Garcia)
I guess where does a PIAA AA state title stack up against Super 32, Ironman or even Powerade. Then throw in events like Fargo & WTT it would easily be at the bottom of the list

Another M2 wrestler, Erik Gibson is enter in the bracket but at 165. Kudos to him for making the most out of his suspension.

Steen wins 6-4. First period- no scoring (wasn't watching). Second period - Steen rides about 15 mins then gives up a stall and an escape. Commercial break by flo and the period ends with Steen leading 2-1, must have got a late takedown. Third period - Steen with a reversal off a roll and gives an escape 4-2 with riding time, Gives up a takedown off his own shot 4-4 with riding time locked. Opponent cuts him 5-4. No more scoring Steen wins 6-4 with riding time.

Verk with an 18-0 tech in the round of 16. Verk won 18-1 in Rd.1 and 17-1 in the Rd. of 32. "They went to Jarod's"......and got smoked :)
VERK is an offensive Juggernaut ! :)
Verk with a 4-0 win in the quarters. Over 2 minutes of riding time. Pause in the Juggernaut talk :)
VERK makes the Finals with a 1st period pin! The Juggernaut Returns! :)

Well........Verk loses in the final 4-3. Verk got riding time but also got called for locked hands. 2 escapes and riding time vs 1 TD, an escape and a penalty point. That looked too familiar :(

That's an impressive ride!

Haines looked sharp. Don't know anything about the opponent other than what wrestlestat said, but I was impressed with his strength and mat wrestling. Was able to both push off the hand fight to get to legs, and sucked in a single leg when UVA was completely extended with hips on head.

What’s does Errico and Abe Assad have in common?

They both lost to highschool kids.

Errico is probably not a national qualifier this year. Still, he's a 6th year SR with a career winning record, so he's used to 7-minute matches and not a stiff.

Levi's likely next opponent Bokina (Brown) is a little better, but also someone Levi can beat.

The real test would be next after Bokina -- Andrew Cerniglia from Navy, national qualifier last year and 2x PA state champ for Beca.

Believe he’d get Hartman after Bokina.

For sure, not saying the opponent was a world beater, it was the process and types of things he was able to do against an older, experienced opponent. Never threatened defensively, easily off bottom, broke down and rode more than a minute when starting on top, won the hand fight, finished shots where he wasn't in perfect position.

I think his top game was most impressive. Most 6th year seniors are pretty good at getting out of bottom. I also liked that it wasn’t just a ride but he was looking for positions that he could turn into points. Kept going bar and wrist and rode legs well. Bodes well for him to become a real hammer on top where he can wrack up some pins and near fall points
