Kamala Harris would lose badly to Trump in 2024 but fare better than Pete Buttigieg, poll says

If the 2024 presidential election is between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, the former president will win handily, a new poll projects.

The Harvard/HarrisX poll, conducted among 1,989 respondents between Nov. 30 and Dec. 2, found that in a hypothetical Trump-Harris matchup, Trump receives 50% support, Harris receives 41% support and 9% are unsure. Trump would win the Electoral College in a landslide with that margin.

While the poll finds that Harris struggles against Trump, it found that Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who would reportedly consider challenging Harris in a 2024 Democratic presidential primary if President Joe Biden does not seek re-election, fares even worse.

In a Trump-Buttigieg matchup, the former president receives 48% support, Buttigieg receives 37% and 15% are unsure, an 11 percentage point margin of victory. The poll also found that in a Biden-Trump 2024 race, Trump receives 48% support, Biden receives 45% support and 8% are unsure.

All of the Democratic candidates likely fare poorly at this moment given Biden's sagging approval ratings amid inflation and ongoing supply chain issues.

The poll is actually a really good one for Harris in a hypothetical 2024 Democratic primary without Biden, as it shows her comfortably leading the field — which also includes Buttigieg, Sens. Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez among others — with 31% support. Sanders, who will be 82 at the time of the primaries and is seemingly unlikely to run a third time, received 15% support, and Buttigieg received 8% support.

Pretty amazing the shitty Dem field at the moment for 2024. Maybe someone else will rise to the top. On the other hand, Reps even with out Trump have a number of strong contender who will likely crush any Dem in the current field by a margin worse than Trump's margin. Dems quagmire reminds me of the Reps in 2012 when Romney ran against Obama.

Romney could've won if he wasn't Romney. He's a squish.

LMFAO, Strong field? Corrupt Filthy Don went through that field of WEAK contenders like a bowling ball smashing pins. Better try again as that was a huge fail. The Cons have nothing behind the former covid king who was beaten by an old man in his basement.

Romney had a very good chance of winning until he let Obama and Candy Crowley off the hook during their second debate. Once that opportunity slipped past him, it was over.
Exactly, if he had any balls he would've said I cam here to debate him, not both of you. Drop the mike, walk off and give a press conference saying that was nonsense.

No but Filthy Don did, twice, and he still on his knees crying.
Frank if you remember I once called you out and said, "You can't post anything without bringing up Donald Trump." Thank you for proving my point.

You are the poster boy for TDS.

DeSantis, Pompeo, Tim Scott maybe in the mix. Anyone of them would thrash who ever the Dems put up there at this time.

The majority of the American people are fed up with Dem candiates who are soft on crime and spend most of their efforts try to appease fringe groups like BLM and the plethora of social justice warriors.

Now we have a new Covid king. What do you think of his performance given that he has overseen more than 50% more Covid deaths than did Trump...and with 3 vaccines at his disposal, to boot?

If Trump runs in 2024, I'm literally going to start slapping Republicans when they approach me
