but, but it’s still a shot. If Penn State can get into a the Big 10 championship game (long shot) and beat a top 5 Wisconsin team, a 2 loss Penn State team with losses totaling 4 points will get into the playoffs. MSU and OSU need to lose once more. Crazier things have happened. Thoughts?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you’d need OSU to lose twice. And one of those losses would have to be against Illinois. On top of it, you’d need MSU to drop another game as well to either UMD or Rutgers.

No, crazier things haven’t happened in this case.

Rutgers has played better at home. Maybe, just maybe if all the stars align just right they can upset MSU. They beat them in 2004.

This team isn't ready for the competition it would face in the CFP. Maybe next year.

A win in a decent bowl game would be something positive to build on during off-season workouts.

If Ohio State loses to Illinois and Michigan, then maybe there is some kind of chance of winning the Big Ten again. But that isn't happening.

Unfortunately, Ohio State would have to lose not once, but twice more. And one of those losses would have to be to pathetic and hopeless Illinois. I’m not sure that a crazier thing than that has ever happened in the history of the universe.
