I think it’s revealing that the US government needs to come to the aid of the silicon chip industry

Republicans claim that capitalism reigns supreme, but it fails at every juncture. We need the US Govt to bailout companies, we need the US government to spur investment and innovation, we need unemployment insurance, medicate/medicaid, we need the Fed to control inflation, we need the EPA to step in to reduce/remove pollution + toxins. Yet, the Republicans…..er, Trumpers, can’t see past their own assholes when it comes to the Government. They think that private industry solves all problems and that the government should be gutted like a fish. Pretty sad.

but wait, it gets worse. I’ve worked at the top semi conductor manufacturers in the world and there aren’t many Republicans there. In fact, it’s probably less than 20%. The folks that work at these companies have phds, master’s degrees, mbas…they come from stem fields and are often immigrants from other countries. So, not only are the Republicans failing as fellow countrymen, they’re also failing to help the US be competitive in a global economy. Very sad.

Hell, If Trump were still President, they would be manufacturing chips in the US a year ago through private investors.

"We need the US Govt to bailout companies"
"The folks that work at these companies have phds, master’s degrees"

So, all of these brilliant people can't figure out how to run a company profitably. Got it.

Republican industries are the source of most bailouts

What exactly is a “republican industry”. Is this something you made up or did CNN tell you?

Republican Industry = Industries where there businesses are run by Republicans and the employees are mostly Republicans.

Ag, Construction, Mining, Oil/Gas, among others are Republican industries.

How about the auto industry? You know…the unionized industry that has had the largest bailout in history?

WTF are you ranting about?
  • We virtually never need bailouts.
  • We seldom need the government to spur investment unless that's what you call limiting excessive regulations.
  • How are unemployment insurance and Medicare contrary to capitalism?
  • What Republicans oppose clean air & water?
  • The Fed DIDN'T control inflation. They CAUSED inflation.

Stupid? We already have all the stupid we can take with Mr. Potato Head and Democrats creating an economic malaise that’s worse than the disastrous Jimmy Carter days.

The reality is that the amount of current semiconductor fabrication capacity is a national security issue. Whatever it takes to build that capacity is worth taxpayer money.

I didn’t think education was an industry?

It sure is pumpkin.

Republican Industries: Ag, Defense, Construction, Oil/Gas, Mining, Trucking

Democrat Industries: Tech, professional services, education, healthcare, finance/banking, entertainment, hospitality.
