HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED, where your THANKSGIVING turkey comes from?????

I would assume that that pay rate for the Innards Removal Stations are higher than other areas, except perhaps the Sicilian Necktie Station.

Nope...never even thought about it.

Early in my career I worked on a project to design the expansion of a turkey processing plant in Cathage, MO. I spend a lot of time there surveying, etc. I remember looking at the job postings on a bulletin board one day, and the folks that slit the necks were classified as "Killers". And yes, they were paid more than the other workers.

Mine comes from Irish descent with a touch of German on his father's side.

Just purchased our bird yesterday morning from the local Walmart. .68 cents per pound. Went to my local butcher later in the day who had a Koch's brand turkey. That turkey was $3.99 per pound !! It wasn't organic or anything special. Amazing how much price difference for a holiday staple.
