The game against Michigan is only 48 hours away! Very very close! The Count is excited, and has decided to count all the various reasons why Penn State is going to DEFEAT Michigan.
Let's start counting!
(1) All the advanced analytics indicate that Penn State is a better team than Michigan. Penn State is favored for a reason!
(2) PSU and Michigan have one similar opponent (Indiana). PSU kicked Indiana's butt. Michigan barely beat Indiana in overtime.
(3) Harbaugh is simply DESTINED to finish in 3rd place in the B1G East once again.
(4) Penn State has already defeated Akron, Akron East (Pittsburgh), Akron South (Georgia State), and Akron West (Northwestern). Akron North (Michigan) needs to be added to the collection!
(5) 2017 is the "revenge tour." Lost to Pittsburgh in 2016. Beat Pittsburgh in 2017. Lost to Michigan in 2016. Beat Michigan in 2017. Our ultimate destiny is USC in the Rose Bowl in a College Football Semifinal game!
(6) Saeed Blacknall is bound to break-out one of these games, right? He's overdue. Make it happen!
(7) Even if Blacknall doesn't break-out - Juwan Johnson will have a great game.
(8) Michigan fans talk a lot about the "great" Don Brown. He's good. But his counterpart, Joe Moorhead, is better.
(9) The PSU offense is --- by far --- the best thing that the "great" Michigan defense has seen thus far.
(10) PSU is a considerably more disciplined football team than Michigan. Michigan set a school-record for penalties last week!
(11) John O'Korn freaking stinks!
(12) Trace McSorley does not freaking stink!
(13) Tommy Stevens does not freaking stink either! Expect him to make a couple of plays on Saturday night too.
(14) Stop the Michigan running game and you have stopped Michigan. The Cothran & Cothren law firm (seriously, those 2, they sound like a law firm) is up to the task.
(15) Jason Cabinda in the middle. He's not going to be injured for this year's Michigan game.
(16) Marcus Allen and Grant Haley in the secondary. This is their last chance ever to beat Michigan. They simply aren't finishing 0-4 all-time vs. the Maize and Blue.
(17) If it gets to be a "field position type of game", we have a great punting unit. Michigan isn't going to be able to mount many 80+ yard drives.
(18) Also in the kicking game: Tyler Davis will get it together. He'll be ready to kick better than his shall-not-be-named "jump-out-of-airplanes-when-committing" counterpart.
(19) We've had 2 weeks to prepare. Trust in the ability of our coordinators to show something that we haven't seen in the first 6 weeks.
(20) The talk 2 weeks ago was "Franklin is 0-3 against Fitzgerald", he matches up poorly against Pat. We saw how that went. Don't put too much into this "Franklin is 0-2 against Harbaugh" nonsense. Harbaugh's not some superior mind to CJF.
(21) We're not 2nd in the nation in turnovers by accident. Turnovers are NOT purely random. We create opportunities, and that will continue.
(22) This is speculation ... but I predict that GameDay brings in the GREAT Bill O'Brien as the guest picker. And he'll be a guest on the PSU sideline! A few of these players are still O'Brien guys, and they won't disappoint a guy who believed in them back during the heart of the sanctions.
(23) If one believes in "karma", as the Count does --- Desmond Howard is OWED some "karma." Specifically, watching his team lose to Penn State with a first-row seat.
(24) It's not 1997 any more. Some of the players playing in this game weren't even alive on "Judgment Day." This reason is posted specifically for any Michigan fans who are lurking. Stop living in the past!
