Football GAMEDAY THREAD: Penn State vs. Ohio

Similar to the OL woes over the years, it's just frustrating how annually the DL just labors to bring the QB down...We almost get there, and just can't seal the deal. Hopefully a couple of the young guys flash and quickly as Auburn and others are looming, but the lack of sacks is disappointing.

I wouldn’t say annually, we’ve had some pretty good pass rushers recently.

Have to hope some of the guys coming back from injury are getting reacclimated. No real push being generated.

Ebeketie yes...Luketa solid...but just real game wreckers (a term JF uses), we have not. And, not having them, like the Bosa's and Hutchinson's of the world, has made a huge difference.

TOUCHDOWN PENN STATE!

Drew Allar finds fellow freshman WR Omari Evans as they connect for a 32-yard touchdown.

Penn State takes a 33-3 lead.

SEC Officials just utterly jobbed Texas.... Bama QB intentionally grounds football as he's being sacked... SEC Officials call "roughing the QB with Targetting" which was absolutely ridiculous as the Texas tackler had Young by the waist and was spinning him down. The play automatically goes to review for Targetting.... the Referee comes out of replay and says "No Targetting and Roughing Penalty is waived off as it was incorrectly described to me. There is no Roughing The Passer on the play" (the ball was still live and in Young's hands when Young was being tackled so you obviously can't have "Roughing The Passer", but that penalty isn't supposed to be reviewable.... but it was such a ridiculously bad, homer call the Referee waived it off to make it 4th down from their own 1.... but still screwed Texas out of the Safety as Young clearly grounded the ball as he was being tackled.

Those stationary handoffs are a waste. Our backs run better if they get the ball with a head of steam. Singleton got hit just as he took the handoff.

After review, Ohio's player wasn't assessed a targeting penalty.

Gotta love b1g homer Officials.... last week against Purdue, Carter was not even called for Targetting on the play, but the b1g cheaters somehow created a Targetting Penalty on Replay Review essentially asked for by Purdue on a hit that clearly was not "targetting", but then this week, the b1g clowns waive of a clear Targetting hit on the QB (any hit to head-&-shoulder area is targeting, let alone intentionally dropping your helmet into QB's facemask)??? Just unreal how obvious their bias is.

Yep no doubt...no forward momentum on those and will not work vs Auburn. The OL will have their hands full next week

Nick Singleton's first game in Beaver Stadium.... 10 carries, 179 yards and two touchdowns. There's still over 19 minutes remaining in the game. Is that good?

PA talent showing itself today.... Singleton is the "real deal" - you do not see a RB just simply outrun the defense when the D has the offense out-flanked on the corner in D1 like that. That looked more like a HS game where RB's routinely bounce it to the outside because they can just force and outrun the corner by stretching it to the border.

I don’t know how a defender goes in for a flying headbutt on a QB and targeting is waived off. When they showed the replay “Oh, this is an easy one.” Nope. Wtf is targeting??

Drew Allar climbs the pocket, avoids pressure, and finds redshirt freshman Khalil Dinkins in the endzone to give Penn State a 46-7 lead.

XP Pending.

Well, when you're dealing with b1g cheating Officials in a PSU game, Targetting, waiving off Targetting, is completely subjective to their agenda.

Great game , amazing youth. Do not like running Allar. He is too special to run on these plays.
