See the link below. From the article:

"Atlanta (CNN) -- The only facility in the world to host the Olympics, Super Bowl and Final Four has been reduced to rubble.

A little more than 25 years after opening, the Georgia Dome, former home of the Atlanta Falcons and the scene for several historic sporting events, was imploded Monday morning. The adjacent Mercedes-Benz Stadium opened this summer.

The blast occurred just after 7:30 a.m. ET. In the span of about 12-15 seconds, most of the structure collapsed, though parts of it remained upright."

It’s pretty sad that the life of the stadium was only 25 years and then they wanted a new one.

How loudly did Arthur Blank yell for a blank check from Atlanta? Did he threaten to move the Falcons? Isn’t that how it works?

How long did the Romans use the Coliseum? We live in such a disposable society. What a waste of money. Anyone know how much the taxpayer is on the hook for?

I THINK the Coliseum is paid for.....

Don't be so sure! They had that 500 million upgrade during the reign of Domitian! Totally unnecessary. And don't forget all the athletic directors and assistant AD's he hired - Assisant AD to the AD for Feeding the Christians to the Lions; AD for Gladiator Welfare and Development... .

Not sure about the Romans, but the Trojans have been using the Coliseum since 1923. Before that, Bovard Field.

Using the Coluseum since 1923? That’s ridiculous!!! They should have imploded the Coliseum in LA and rebuilt another in 1948.......then imploded that one and rebuilt a new one in 1973.......then imploded that stadium and built another in 1998. They should be due for their 5th new stadium in another 6 years if they followed the NFL-Atlanta model. ;)
