Fargo 2022

First off I appreciate all of your posting on the HS wrestling scene. Lots of great info you provide. I enjoy following PA wrestling and am very much looking forward to the upcoming season. You have brought up FCA and their many new recruits many times for months now, any chance you could post a guess at their line up?
I'll give you my best shot at it, since Rock passed and I'm just getting back from a week on the road:

107 - Johnny O'Brien, 9th - PJW 4th
114 - Sam Hunter - 10th
121 - Gauge Botero, 10th - 2A 3rd, Fargo Cadet Double AA
127 - Arment Waltenbaugh - 9th - don't think he's placed at PJWs (maybe when younger), took 3rd at Powerade JH
133 - Chase Hontz, 10th - 2A State Qualifier, NHSCA FR 4th
139 - Cody Wagner, 11th - 2x 2A State Qualifier
145 - Max Stein, 10th - 2A 6th or maybe Nick Singer/Shane Wagner if Stein is not at FCA - they took 2nd/3rd at PJWs. There is also another Wagner around this weight
152 - Lincoln Hower, 12th or Nick Singer/Shane Wagner
160 - Cael Weidemoyer, 9th - PJW Champ, DNP at Fargo Cadet Freestyle, AA (I think) at Greco
172 - Luke Sugalski, 10th - 2A State Qualifier, NHSCA FR 3rd
189 - Adam Waters, 9th - PJW Champ, Fargo Cadet Double AA
215 - Jason Singer, 9th - PJW Champ, DNP at Fargo Cadet Freestyle, AA in Greco (again, I think)
285 - no idea, maybe they insert Caleb Sine, 12th at 189 and bump the young guys up for duals. That might not work out well against top competition. Waters will do ok at 215 probably unless he's up against someone elite, but bumping Singer up against top older 285s is not going to work out well - too young and he's not Kinney.

Brock talked about the older Bachmann but unless something's changed he'll be in 8th grade this year. Same thing with Davidheiser, I think. Davidheiser is pretty small (94).

Don't get me wrong, that is a damn good team. But they are pretty young and let's see how many of those frosh place at the Beast or ETR this year before you crown them state champs. I think 2023-24 is their year, but Rock thinks differently. Maybe there are some kids coming in that I don't know about. Is it Rock or Brock? I've typed it both ways here.

Meadowbrook has 310 kids total, K-12. That averages 24 students per grade, boys + girls combined.

It's been a couple years since I drove past there, but IIRC that's probably close to their building capacity.
Must have grown since I went by. Probably twenty years ago.

Wow thanks for that information! I keep hearing about them but I have no clue who most the kids they added. Yeah I also thought Joe Bachmann was only in 8th grade, and i am almost positive Davidheiser is in 9th grade. I remember him from back when he wrestled for Boyertown, and I am pretty sure he was already held back. I actually just checked on pawrestling, he wrestled 2019-2020 for Boyertown JH. Skipped the following year, obviously held back, then wrestled for FC JH last season. So he is definitely in 9th grade. My guess he knows he will not start at 107 so just keep wrestling at 94 pounds.

I actually like Rock better. That lineup will be close but I heard Davidheiser at 106, his brother transferred in and some others. That lineup is mostly 9th and 10th graders. Reynolds, NDGP, Chestnut better up their transfer game. Then add Harer and his new co-op.
On a different note Mcort is going preps was the talk at M2 today. Definitely the best place for them. Stinks losing Gibson and company from competing in Hershey but imo all private schools should be forced to go preps

Steen takes pictures with lots of wrestling people (at this tournament alone he snagged pictures with Barr, Mike Evans, Sam Ayala, Ryan Morningstar, Brad Pataky, and Cyler Sanderson amongst others). Especially at Fargo and kids nationals. Doesn’t seem to matter whether they trained at BK or not.
