Wow. He has a permanent hall pass - he is black. I don't see Lurie doing anything about this.

Blacks’ freedom of speech is a lot broader than white’s.

Jew haters come from the left and the right. Fox Soul channel shouldn’t have aired Farrakhan’s 4th of July speech. Fox. Destroying America. From both sides.

Wouldn't a white person lose their job and be held up for public scorn in the MSM if they said something like this about Black people? When each race is treated equally in ALL regards we can take BLM and bleeding heart whites seriously. Until then they can take their double standards and stick them where the sun don't shine.

Agreed , release him. And I do not recall if Lurie is Jewish , but if I were him I'd be angry and vocal about it.

    Yes, Lurie is Jewish.

But to his credit, he’s not usually a rash decision kind of guy. He’s very forgiving. If D-Jax can help win games, he’ll have a spot on the team.

That's the thing - D-Jax can't help him win games because he gets hurt all the time.

This is "to (Lurie's) credit"? That he will tolerate a racist bigot on his team as long as that helps them win? I wonder if Lurie was virtue signalling and announcing he's down with the "cause" and joining the mob when someone speaks out against BLM.....

So, just to be clear here, if it's a sports star we're talking about who is making bigoted or racial remarks.....he gets to keep his job because he helps the team win games. But, if it's a regular American citizen who says the slightest thing that shows he's not on board with the BLM thugs, that person has to be fired no matter how much they contribute to their employer's success.....

Did I get that right? Sounds reasonable <sarc> ... and people wonder why the double standards won't go away in our society....

Noose....schmoose...remember the assistant coach who was photo'd wearing what the Left considered to be an unacceptable T-shirt? On with the media outlet OAN's logo on it. The hysteria is unbelievable....talk about a modern day witch hunt....

I added a link to my post that shows what I mean.

Let me ask you to explain how it's to Lurie's "credit" to keep this guy on his team? What factors are at play here that aren't in the situations where regular citizens do the same thing and the Left comes after them?

I personally don't believe that people should be subject to public trial based on a misplaced comment or what shirt they choose to wear but that's just me.

Then you'll be speaking out against that when the Left tries to get the next person who disagrees with them fired? Good.....

Well, I believe DeSean deserves being forgiven for making a statement that he didn't completely gasp the full nature of. And I should hope that most people would feel this way. But unfortunately that is generally NOT the case with the "woke" crowd. They seek to jump at every chance they get to chastise everyone. They get people fired, snubbed, shunned, ridiculed, banned, etc. for not towing the "woke" line. The "woke" crowd's guilt runs deep.

Blue lives matter, white lives matter, what is wrong with saying all lives matter. Didn't some announcer get fired for saying that. What is the irrational fear, getting a brick thrown through your window?

Tom's board was apoplectic over an OAN t-shirt for 2 days. The same lecturers don't seem to care much about this.

What was wrong w/ wearing an OAN t-shirt fishing anyway, again?

You’re still upset that you, as a white dude, are constrained from using the “n” word? Get over it.

The only time I ever use the N-word is when I sing along to rap music. What is wrong with that?

Lurie also signed Michael Vick and kept Riley Cooper. I think my point is that he’s a “everyone deserves a second chance” kind of guy.

Unlike the cancel culture of today, I think that approach is a breath of fresh air. People are imperfect. People make mistakes. Sometimes people don’t even know when they make mistakes. Sometimes they do. But most of the time, people can learn from mistakes.

i read what he posted. Those statements were not borderline or ambiguous or subject to multiple interpretations. It's funny that the "breath of fresh air" comes to play when a Black athlete is the guy who made the statement. I'm gonna wait until I see if the same "fresh air" is evidenced when white people "offend" the Left. Until that happens, this looks like just another example of double standards that "we" have come to expect and condone. It's easy to excuse bad behavior, it's a lot tougher to confront it and make it stop. .

    Not familiar with it.

I think lurie has been consistent across the board though. If he was playing favorites, it would be one thing. But he’s not. He isn’t the woke mob. And just because he happens to be on the left doesn’t mean that we should encourage him to act like the woke mob out of spite.

Again, I’m looking at this from a different angle. I understand and appreciate your frustration. But this guy has consistently stood up to the mob in cases like this, Cooper, and Vick. He peddles forgiveness and he’s not playing favorites by color. That’s something we need more of.

Societally I would agree. But lurie being consistent, if he ultimately is, across time and mass hysteria should be applauded.

Now, should the woke mob go nuts about this? Absolutely. But they won’t. They’re activists against conservatives. Race is just a useful ruse.

Riley cooper got kept. just trying to call it fairly. I tend to agree with your overall point, but lurie has been equally fair in the past, and I don’t think criticism of him is warranted if that criticism is about playing racial favorites.
