Could Hack's confidence be shot for the rest of the season after last week?

Disagree. If you were in his situation, you'd be doing the same. Hack understandably has zero confidence in his OL, OL coach and OC.

Correct. Until we find a way to protect him, this is how it's going to be.

We need to run the ball, like 80 percent of the time now. No more than 20 throws per game.

I don't think it is Hack's confidence that is hurting him as much as it is his going into safe mode to protect his NFL draft stock. It is like he and his family had a discussion prior to the season to say, if they aren't blocking, don't risk it. Get down and protect the millions coming.

Well, Hack is losing a ton of money if he continues to play like a Sally. What GM wants to go first round on a rocket arm with a pansy heart? What franchise wants a QB that refuses to throw the ball away if nothing is there and no time is left?

Hack has become the anti-Michael Robinson, who won and lead because he played with everything he had and left it all on the field, and maybe delivered too many of his own hits for a QB. Heck, even Kerry Collins came out and ran over a dude at the start of '94. It's sets a tone and so does covering up in the face of any pressure. We need Hack to grow a pair and realize that if he doesn't start playing instead of managing risk, his stock will continue to freefall.

Give Hackenberg the offensive line that Collins played behind, then we'll talk.

Yea, right, it's clearly the OL, OL Coach and OC who make Hack throw every other ball, even with good protection, into the dirt, over people's heads, behind them, miss players running free in the opponent's secondary by a country mile when even a remotely half-way decent throw gives us a 17-0 lead over said opponent.

If our QB is this soft and fragile, he most certainly isn't playing on Sundays. QBs more than anything else are expected to be "leaders" (especially in regards to attitude) and "playmakers" - hence the term "field general". Matt McGloin being an excellent example - he really had no measurables that stood out or captured anybody's attention (although he was clearly a better all-around athlete than most gave him credit for), but McGloin's greatest asset was his "intangibles" - specifically his ability to lead and make plays even after he had played poorly earlier (e.g., he was RESILIENT, "indomitable", never-say-die, no-conscience or however else you want to describe it). Darryl Clark and Michael Robinson also had the qualities of "toughness" and if your boy is as soft and fragile as you claim (and he looks on the field), he isn't playing on Sundays and frankly shouldn't be playing on Saturdays because that kind of "whoa is me" loser attitude does not help his team - especially when he is the last person who should be pointing fingers given his own play! (e.g., his attitude displays VERY POOR LEADERSHIP QUALITIES which is the last thing you need in a QB).

Hack is fine. Just needs some time off to cool his jets a little. He loves CJF and PSU
How will he have time off now that the season has started? He only refueled last season after the last game and the bowl game. He has had the entire off season to freshen up mentally, and now his body language is already saying ....help!
