It mostly isn't a death sentence. The mortality rate is low, even lower with the newer strains. If you're vaccinated and without cormobidities the mortality rate is incredibly low.

If you're over 80, have comorbidities, and/or haven't had the vaccine you should be very careful.

At this time, the 75+ y.o. group made up 63% of deaths, 50-75 made up 34%, and those under 50 made up only 3% while the 75+ y.o. group only made up 34% of deaths back in Sept 21 while the 50-75 made up 52%.
