Says he would rather lost 5 games by 12 points then by large margins.

Says Amani Oruwariye is his guy and he wouldn't trade him for Richard Sherman.

Says they work on stuff all week long and then come saturday its different, they got to get that corrected.

Just a bunch of lame excuses, really. He kept harping on that lateral non-call.

The most amusing question: “So when Trace ran out of bounds there late in the 4th, I’m guessing you didn’t want him to do that?” (It was the second part of a two part question...JF didn’t answer this part, lol)

Today’s game was lost in the film room and scouting. They had no answers no counter moves and no imagination on offense.
This was the biggest loss in the Franklin era. MSU was a depleated team, less talented and yet the coaching staff put his kids in position to win.
Not sure what Franklin plan was.

They need to get the O-coordinator position “corrected”.

When are you going to out coach some one?

At what point do you stand on the table and take the brunt of the responsibility for the these losses with a lead in the 4th quarter that have happened for 3 years plus now.

Last week, you harped on the "little things". Can we review your clock management practices, like snapping the ball in clock killing mode with 13-20 seconds on the clock.

Who's decision was it to run on 4th and 5 last week in the biggest play of the year or not pass on 3rd and 8 today (or any play prior) when a first down wins the game?

Why do you rotate your superstar WR, Hamler, as if you are playing Ball State ? And for the limited snaps he amazingly receives, why not feature him in some capacity for a jolt to the struggling offense?

In fairness, it wasn’t much of a lead this particular time.
Didn’t realize Hamler rotating out was an issue...for an entire series, or just a few plays?

Yada.....Yada....Yada.... We've all heard the same thing before.....

It's time for James from State College to be sent a slip....preferably pink.

The thing that stood out in the postgame was that he seemed to have no explanations.
This was a banged up MSU squad with the 122nd ranked pass defense and JF and Co were schooled. Dantonio made it his kind of game - 1950’s football - and we had no answer.

No need to fire JF. Send him to learn from Doug Pederson and Sean McVay about how to be aggressive to close games etc.

Blowing late leads in close games is due in part to the obsession of trying to make the other team burn their time outs. We needed one first down to essentially ice the game and opted for a couple safe running plays just to make them call time outs. Is a pass on first down bad?? Turtling up is a losing attitude.

The same situation existed in the Rose Bowl a couple years ago. One more first down and the game was ours. Instead, we were treated to the philosophically weak four minute offense.

And the "5 losses by 12 total points" refrain doesn't cut if regardless if it's being said by a coach, a fan or a radio guy. It's still five losses in games which should have been wins. There's no perfume to cover that stench.

No jet sweeps or screens to him?

He was also paid about 75% less.
And his recruiting since the 90's fell like the stock market crash. He lost key coaches like Welsh, Schiano, Dickenson, Golden,Brooks,Andersen, and the replacements sometimes were meh, plus senioritis was prevalent.

Nothing is going to get corrected until the off-season. There isn't enough time for this staff to do anything significant until then. They are too busy with the day-to-day and recruiting.

Change has to start with some honest introspection. Don't see that happening mid-season no matter what gets said in a press conference.

O'Brien had plenty to work with, even after the testically-challenged transferred.

Agree with you here, this team had no ambition today, i think the coaches and players got the OSU loss in their heads, if they don't wise up they'll be playing in the Pinstripe Bowl or worse.

Not sure what Franklin plan was.

Seems he hoped that better talent would prevail. When the team struggled on offense or defense there was no plan B. No adjustments. Just keep doing the same thing and hope for better results.
