Cleveland would have 1st and goal at the one. Higgens dives for the end zone, the ball comes free and goes out of the end zone....touchback. Chiefs get the ball on the 20........ it was the correct call, but does not seem like a good rule.

I agree too harsh . Should get the ball back at the point of the fumble or the one yard line if fumble occurs inside the one .

Agree...penalty for that fumble far exceeds the violation...rules committee should strongly consider changing

Why does every ball carrier nearing a TD being tackled , have to stretch that ball out?
Unless it's the last play or 4th and goal, it's risky for the reason we just seen, it's stupid, selfish and it caused a 10 pt. swing.

It would actually be half the distance from the spot it occurred since the offensive player still had possession (so 1st and goal from inside the 1)...plus the ejection.

Was a clear penalty in NFL - they just failed to throw the flag. Again, that specific hit ("Spearing") has ALWAYS been illegal, it's just been incorporated into new Targetting Rule.
