Bo's Next Event July 3rd, and UCF Series Fights

From a post on Mineo’s FB group.

“Well. That didn’t take long. Less than two days removed from Contender Series, Bo Nickal has his UFC debut. Nickal vs. Jamie Pickett at UFC 282 on Dec. 10 in Las Vegas, per the UFC.”

Pickett is 34 and a brown belt in BJJ. His record is 13-8, last two fights were losses. This will be his 4th fight of 2022.

2-4 since he earned a UFC contract. He was on the contender series twice (correction, 3 times), lost the first (two) time(s) then won and got a contract.

Pickett was on contender series three times, lost twice, then won and got his contract. He's 2-4 as a UFC fighter, with those wins against a non-UFC guy and a guy who lost four straight (Pickett #4) and then got cut. Put simply, Pickett is probably the worst middleweight on the UFC roster. They're easing Bo in.

Curious to see if this goes prelims or main card. Could see it as the prelim Main Event.

If you go to the list his is in the middle (just looked again, listed as match #4 of 9), The main event is

UFC 282 - PROCHAZKA VS. TEIXEIRA 2

You are indeed correct about Pickett. As an avid UFC fan, this is Picketts last chance at staying in the UFC. If he loses he will likely be cut from the roster. So yes this is a way to ease Bo in

Not surprised by the matchup. He ends experience and UFC doesn't want to kill a golden goose so early in his career.

Imagine being that f'n Pickett guy. He probably knows he's got one more fight to prove himself and then they line him up against Bo Nickal. Pickett lost as soon as the fight was arranged.

I have to admit that an opponent with 21 professional MMA fights worth of experience at least has my attention against the 3-0, less than 5 mins of combined pro and amateur fighting time, Bo.

Pico is one tough SOB!! He fought tonight and either dislocated his shoulder or possibly broke his clavicle and continued to fight for about 4 more minutes until the end of the round. Then in between rounds his coaches tried to pop it back in but it actually looked like it maybe hurt him more. He tried to keep fighting but the doctor thankfully wouldn’t let him. Looked pretty bad when he left the cage. Can’t believe he wanted to keep fighting. I know most fighters would have said the same but hoping the dr would stop it but I think Pico really wanted to keep fighting. Tough break for him because he seemed to have really turned the corner and was on a 6 fight win streak.

Bo Nickal's fight in December at UFC 282 has been cancelled. The reason for Bo's withdrawal was not disclosed. Most likely get a fight in early 2023. Bummer
