Tennessee had to hang on to beat UMass, now 0-5, 17-13 and the game was in Knoxville. If TN had lost that game to a program that is being called the worst in the FBS, we would have to have initiated a Crowdfunding campaign to help TN defensive coordinator Bob Shoop hire a real estate agent. There would have been a number of "Volunteers" to help Bob, head coach Butch Jones and the rest of the staff to pack their offices and clear out. They ended up in a dogfight with a bad UMass team- amazing. Jones cannot be long for Knoxville.

Tennessee and Georgia almost never fail to disappoint their fans

Cannot imagine the reaction in Knoxville and throughout all of Tennessee if they had lost to the Minutemen. The wheels would have come off and the car would have exploded while going over a cliff.

The stunnng thing to me was how empty the stadium was. Looked about 1/3 full in fourth quarter of a close game.

FSU was less of capacity, too. Ticket prices are getting out of hand just like a college education. The schools are corporations and need to start paying backing to their students, athletes, and alumni. PSU no different.

Are you saying that the price of a ticket for the FSU game was $100,000???? ;-) That seems a bit unreasonable. Better be good seats for that price. ;-)

I really think a lot of big jobs are going to open up this off-season. Tenn, ND, Nebraska just to name a few

Wonder if the new coach brings in his own DC?

The Tennessee Volunteers held off the Massachusetts Minutemen in uninspiring fashion today at Neyland Stadium. Tennessee managed a whopping 17 points against UMass, letting the Minutemen hang around until the final drive.

Tennessee fans were less than impressed. This was a look at the stadium in the second half of a four point game.

The stands were nearly full at kickoff. A crowd of 95,000 was announced.

The Vols were 28 point favorites today, but only managed to win by four. This doesn’t exactly inspire confidence going forward, especially with the Georgia Bulldogs coming to town next week.

I’ve always said, an empty stadium is the loudest and clearest message that fans can send. For a fanbase to do this during a close game should tell you all you need to know about how they feel.

As of today, Notre Dame would likely be favored in seven of their remaining eight regular season games. Kelly isn't going anywhere (this year).

Perhaps Georgia lays a 20 point win on TN next week and they fire Butch Jones making Shoop interim head coach. Might save Shoop a big chunk of change?
