Biggest PSU-Iowa game in history coming up?

BTW, contrast what these HARD FACTS say relative to the made-up bullshit, supposed "facts" the b1g's own Network has spun and marketed about PSU and Iowa..... then tell me there isn't a clear bias relative to PSU in this Conference and the "Traditional b1g" homer scumbags that run it, populate its Officiating Responsibilities..... its media outlets, etc..... There are so many posing b1g foil loudmoths on this board who rant on and on about how there is no such bias - if this were remotely true, do tell how they have the ACTUAL INCONTRIVERTIBLE FACTS diametrically opposite of what they are in REALITY??? (while they have spent 100% of their air-time promoting Iowa as a "complete team" and PSU as a flawed team based on their below average running game, they have completely ignored THE FACT that Iowa's running offense is WORSE than PSU's running offense! They have also ignored that PSU's Passing Offense is outstanding making PSU's overall offense well above average [28th Percentile using stats you cited - 37th of 130]. PSU averages ~420 Offensive Yards Per Game on 337 plays [6.2 YPP] - 6.2 YPP is an outstanding number and hardly something to sneeze at. In contrast, Iowa's Passing Game sucks nearly as bad as their Rushing Offense, such that their Overall Offense is bottom of the barrel, not just in b1g, but nationally as well - according to your citation above, Iowa is in the 78th Percentile in Overall Offense [101st of 130] averaging only 320 YPG and 4.8 YPP on 334 total offensive plays this year.).

Yards Per Play is the best stat, most "statistically reliable" in evaluating how successful an Offensive Team is, and will be, but somehow, the "unbiased" brainiacs in the b1g, have come to the conclusion, that a NATIONALLY SUB-AVERAGE number of 4.8 YPP is somehow better than a WELL-ABOVE AVERAGE YPP of 6.2 and suggestive that Iowa has the better "more complete"... "very good"..... Offense, while PSU's Offense is awful and has no chance versus Iowa???? If this type of b1g homer anti-PSU re-rendering of the real and actual facts (i.e., the numbers are biased and being impacted by - IOW resulting from) isn't demonstrative of what scientists call "bias", not sure what is....

Dang. If we could just play each other, all of the questions would be answered.

His main point is that if you make Iowa drive the length of the field, they generally don't score points.

Iowa had a 2nd quarter 20 play, 95 yard drive in Week 3. Most impressive drive of year lead by QB Spencer Petras.

Also, last week, RB Tyler Goodson scored on a 67 yard pass play at Maryland. Impressed one of the West Coast FOX Big Noon Analyst's.

Iowa had a nice 4th play of the season run on the first drive of the season. Kickoff return and a first down, then a TD, if I recall correctly.

Iowa has had two road games, the first one was a Top 10 match up, with GameDay, so hard to suggest not untested at 5-0.

3 quality wins for Penn State?

Who are the three?

If you get to claim the Cyclones as a top 10 road win, we can certainly claim Wisconsin as a top 12 road win. The only difference between the two: Wisconsin played 3 teams with a pulse, Iowa State 2.

Auburn is our best win. We both whipped Indiana. You have nothing more impressive than we do.

WRONG.

The 6-4 epic of 2004 was the biggest PSU-Iowa game in history, if not the single biggest event in the recorded history of humans.

Didn't suggest it. Only stated Iowa isn't untested.

Iowa and Penn State are both 2-0. None of the non-conference games get us any closer to Indianapolis.

It should be a good Iowa-Penn State game. Far more competitive, than the first game I watched Iowa and Penn State play back in 1974 at Kinnick.

#1 and #2 defenses in Big Ten
Iowa averages 151.5 yards rushing in B1G games, Penn State is 129.5 right behind Iowa. #7 and #8 in 2 B1G games.

Penn State is #7 to Iowa's #8 in passing: 223 to 214. 6.7 to 6.5 per pass play.

The offense are similar. The defenses are similar. Both teams have strong punters.

It should be a good one.

Yes, this is the biggest game in PSU - Iowa history. Both teams undefeated and ranked in the top 5.

The next bigest game might be with Michigan on November 13. If we both stay undefeated then this game will be touted as the biggest game in Beaver Stadium history.
Huge if…we go to O$U on 10/30…we will lose by 2+ scores…

The heat may impact the game Saturday. Near record temps (close to 87) and the Hawkeyes wear black. Bring sideline misters!
