Football Big Ten Media Days - Day One Coverage

The Big Ten has formed a student-athlete advocacy committee in an effort to strengthen the relationship between the conference and student-athletes.

Warren is happy for players in regards to NIL but is calling for federal rules and regulations and to ensure it's not used for recruiting purposes.

Notes that the Big Ten and himself are being realistic about the state and the future of college athletics - accepting their responsibility to shape, lead, and fortify college athletics as well as being "bold, strong, and innovative"

Future expansion - "It may include future expansion but it will be done for the right reasons at the right time with student-athletes, academic, and athletic empowerment at the center of any and all decisions regarding any future expansions. We will not expand just to expand, it will be strategic, it will add additional value to our conference."

Warren and the Big Ten are consistently evaluating the future of college athletics, NIL CFB, etc.

Warren believes a lot of the issues in today's college athletics are due to the business side of college athletics growing faster than the rules, regulations, and governorships.

Also sounds like the media rights deal is close, wouldn't be shocked if we hear something today or tomorrow.

Warren says the Big Ten is/has created a "Big Ten readiness" committee to help UCLA and USC with the conference transition for 2024. Big Ten focused on creating a healthy and holistic schedule for student-athletes with the conference expansion.

Big piece of news here - UCLA and USC will both be full members of the conference come 2024 and will receive full revenue right away.

Warren: "I'm 100% supportive of college football playoff expansion" also believes there needs to be multiple media members and that bowl relationships need to be protected.

Warren also said the Big Ten will be playing in four time zones. Did he misspeak or is he unwittingly dropping info about future expansion plans?

That's a great question, I had to look it up and technically part of Nebraska is in the mountain time zone.
