And yet another allegation appears at TOSU. Link inside

So Ohio St fanboys think the university will just reinstate Tressel…ahem….Meyer on their football timeline and this won't be an issue down the line if more information comes out. Check out the excerpt from the article below and consider that now the Feds are already investigating a different abuse scandal at Ohio St FOUR MONTHS after Ohio St washed it's hands of it. For the buckeye fanboys rooting for football over spouse abuse, it will almost certainly cause more damage down the road to reinstate Meyer. The feds are now looking at who else knew or SHOULD HAVE KNOWN about the abuse for their molestor doctor. The same will occur not if, but when new information is reported on the spouse abuse case which will almost certainly result in a court case for either wrongful termination or a suit against the university for permitting the abuse to continue and covering it up. Reinstating Meyer will subject quite a few Ohio St admins to some very serious charges and financial risk. While you would hope they were more motivated by doing the right thing, those closest will soon be motivated by CYA. The fed is already deep into their business, would they be so wreckless as to invite more scrutiny for another abuse cover up?

The U.S. Department of Education has opened an investigation into whether Ohio State University officials responded "promptly and equitably" to complaints from wrestlers and other athletes that the team doctor had molested them.

Among other things, the department's Office for Civil Rights will investigate the university's response to "allegations that employees knew or should have know about the sexual misconduct and allowed the abuse to continue," according to a release from the university on Thursday.

The development comes four months after Ohio State, prompted by complaints from wrestlers who said that they were molested by Dr. Richard Strauss, began its own investigation into the allegations from more than two decades ago.

While not a good look. Don’t think it’s likely to bleed over into the football investigation. Totally different sets of individuals involved.

Although same decision makers at the higher levels. Scrutiny on the athletic department and those above from the feds will almost certainly and immediately impact their willingness to accept more risk with Meyer.

This is way too close to Urban Meyer and he will be fired over this. I mean this Dr. left the University only 15 years before Coach Meyer got to OSU, and he had absolutely nothing to do with the Football team.

No way Meyer can come back from this mess....

Because that is exactly what we've said above, right blackeye?

Yes but it sure does "ring" that LOIC bell.

Not sure about given the wrestling allegations are what 15-20 years old?

If it wasn’t Meyer I’d agree. Any normal coach would be out.

Everyone knows that OSU is going to retain Meyer. That's a no brainer as that's the way people would expect a scumbag university like that to operate. The feds getting involved in a situation that, from what it looks like a whole hell of a lot of people at THE Ohio state university knew about.. . That's a different scandal ,for another day . A day coming quickly.

I could not agree more, Imawright. The liability of retaining Urbs is too great. It's like you don't know what's gonna jump out at you further on down the road. It's best to cut your losses and start anew. And there are plenty of good coaching candidates out there from whom to choose.
