An altered state
The iPhone/Android markets operate in totally separate price points. In 2021 the global average selling price of an Android phone was 261 dollars. Apples average selling price was over 800 bucks.

Apple doesn't sell the most phones by number but they hoover up 70% of the profits for mobile phones.

There are currently eight different iPhone models in the market. Choosing the best iPhone for your needs could be a complicated task. But it's much easier to choose a best iPhone for your needs once you consider the design, features and technology that you use and whether its price is in your comfort zone. Apple currently sells iPhone variants with prices ranging from $429 for the iPhone SE (2022) to $1,599 for the iPhone 13 Pro Max with the 1TB of storage.
“Cheap” is a relative term, though. It means something different to each person, depending on their income and spending habits. For this reason, we have rounded up the best cheap Android phones currently on the market at various price points, starting at around $450 and going all the way down to as low as $140. That way, most people will find something that fits their budget.
Apple’s iPhone revenue increased 35% YoY to $196 billion in 2021. It captured 44% of total global smartphone revenue in 2021.
The high demand for 5G-enabled iPhone 12 and 13 series helped Apple register 14% growth in its overall ASP, which reached $825 in 2021. The brand also managed to increase its share in key emerging markets such as India, Thailand, Vietnam and Brazil.
Their profits are around 30%. They could sell the ‘cheap’ one for %325 and make a profit. The high end one could sell for $1200 and make a reasonable profit. Yet big oil makes 30 cents a gallon and you cry a bloody river.
