According to The Bern, a family earning $250,000 is "rich"...

I will have to ask my wife to quit work so we don't exceed that threshold.... We fork over enough already.

Well at least he doesn't hide his Socialists stripes in an attempt to get elected. That's more than I can say for most other lying, dishonest, and deceitful Democrats. However, I think Bernie should continue to promote his "This Land is Your Land - This Land is my Land" album rather than aspire to be actually elected US President. Even some Democrats won't necessarily buy what he is selling.

I will credit him that as well. He's emboldened the inner socialist of most democrats.

Just think what that says about a good % of the Democrat base next time the Lib's try to tell you that you have extreme views out of the mainstream.

According to Obama too. He talks about millionaires and billionaires, then proposes tax hikes on people earning $250k.

Do you want to know what really pi$$es these guys off? They force employers to pay for healthcare, higher minimum wages, more paid time off, etc. so the employers respond by hiring fewer people or cut back on pay increases. That drives them crazy!

They have no concept of consequences. Zero, zip, nada.

Lol - poor knox. So insecure he has to drop 'hints' of his family's income on a message board.

Why don't you just stop being like you, and be like me (awesome in every way)? Then your insecurities, causing you to feel the need to 'hint' about your income, about being you will go away. :)

Sorry you took it that way, and sorry you had to affirm yourself not only with your ad hominem attack, but your boast of being awesome in every way (and fast evidently....). I would have to say based on that demonstration that you may want to consider your own insecurity.

The point of the reference was that this family is nowhere near "rich". Sorry to have to explain that to you.

Sorry you took it that way...

There wasn't an interpretation on my part. It actually was (is) that. While you didn't give an exact number, and regardless of what was your "point," you felt the need to communicate that your combined family income is at least $X.

You are one of the better righties on here when it comes to reading dry humor, but I guess this one swooshed right by you.

You failed to get the point Fish, and yes, I didn't give an exact number. You chose to try to make something of it that isn't there. Bernie's $250,000 is too low in my opinion. That should have been obvious to you, but again, you decided for an ad hominem attack instead of debating the amount. That's on you Fish. Not me.

No, I got your point (you don't think $250k/yr makes a family "rich"). Just because I'm making an observation about your post, and don't specifically make the effort to say that I agree with your point, doesn't mean that I missed the point.

And yes, we get this also.... You and you're wife's combined income is > $250k. Congrats, knoxy! YAY FOR KNOXY!

No, it isn't.... LOL. Not even close really. Pretty silly assumption even after you note that I didn't give the number. Dunce.

Keep up the ad hominem attacks Fish. You missed the point entirely, and continue to do so for some silly reason. $250,000 for a family of 4 is definitely not "rich". Maybe if Bernie can give us some free stuff to help out?

There's only one. It was a nice check, but Uncle Sam does a dandy on it. Bought a Kamado grill (aka Big Green Egg) and a refrigerator with an ice maker on it with some of the proceeds. Love the ice maker. Never had one before. And love the grill too. Does a fantastic job.

Funny you bring this up, working on this year's estimates now.

Actually Fish. I must thank you. You've emboldened me. Two highly education professionals with 30 years of industry experience each really ought to be making > $250,000 a year collectively.

I owe you Fish. I need a freaking raise. No need to concern oneself with The Bern or what he thinks. He will lose.

There's more too it than just "highly education [sic]" -- But yeah, generally I would agree with you on that.

weird I did not get a bonus but also bought refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser (and never had one before and love it) and got a Big Green Egg for Christmas, which means I ultimately paid for it!! Really love the BGE, it really does seem to live up to all the hype they put up around it. And I garden extensively and grow tomatoes and peppers and....and.....its all just a little too weird.........

What's really weird is having wine and dinner with an acclaimed academician while loathing little people who disagree with him.

Did you really get the BGE for Christmas?

Even when I agree with you, you find a reason to cry about it. Geesh.

No, just laughing at your dynamic change of tone.... First I'm bragging then you agree that we ought to be pulling down more..... Should I use an emoticon next time?

Why do you loathe little people?? I mean I get the whole republican judgmental thing and all, but loathe is a pretty strong word for someone who makes less than $250,000.

Yes got a large BGE for Christmas and really like it. Went right out and bought deflector plate and roasted whole chicken first dish was amazing. Always wanted one, now my kids gave me one......

Seriously?!? This is coming from you? LOLOLOL

If there's a more insecure person on this board than you, I haven't seen them.

I was referring to you in regards to loathing little people.

That's one of the reasons I went with KamadoJoe "it comes with that". No need to buy the indirect cooking plates, grates.....

The other reason is that if you go to the KamadoJoe web site, they have tons of video's for dishes - techniques, starting the fire....... They really helped seal the deal. I watched a ton of them before buying. I felt that they supported the product a bit better. No matter though. They both do the same thing.

Wait until you do burgers on it. Get that thing up to 650 and give it 3 minutes a side. Let the fire spread out wide for even grilling.

I made pulled pork on it for the first dish. Low and slow. Chicken took me a while to get to master, but did a turkey breast for extra turkey on Thanksgiving. Fabulous. You may want to consider burning some off some of the grease from the Chicken if you let it drip directly into the grill. It "tainted" my next dish.

How do you start it up? I use a propane torch to get it going, then one of those hot air things to get it to catch. Works great.

You'll love it. Did a 3 inch thick ribeye for my father in-law over Thanksgiving. Used the "reverse sear" technique.

Enjoy.

why would you say I loathe little people?? I am no republican, thats on you guys......

Anyhow, yea I seriously considered KamodoJoe last year but did not pull trigger. The biggest drawback with BGE is not including the deflector plate. Everyone i know who has a BGE has a deflector. Everyone online says should be standard included and I agree. And price is not that high. like $60ish so they should just include it. But my kids bought me the BGE for Christmas, although ultimately money came from me. Chicken I did in ceramic baking dish, so no splatter below. Did it like i would a chicken in oven, on bed hard vegetables (carrot, celery, onion) and it turned out so much better. held temp for 2+ hours no problem and chicken was beautiful roasted but also had smokey, grilled flavor. Yea can't wait to try some high temperature searing of stakes and burgers. Friend of mine does briskets on it low and slow and turns out really good, so that in cue as well as trying baking things like breads and pizza and pretzels in it.
I have been using Royal Oak charcoal and it turns out BGE brand charcoal is just Royal Oak rebranded and 30% more expensive. I basically pile a bunch in the bottom and put some newspaper in the ash door under the false bottom and light it, chimney style. Lights right up.

I got the KamadoJoe last March and the refrigerator in September.. Stainless, french doors, freezer on bottom...... but the water and ice is on the outside..... lol.. never, never and never as well.

Most stores around here carry "Cowboy" brand hardwood lump. Two styles though - regular and then "southern style". From what I can tell, "southern style" is only 80 or 90% carbonized so you get more "wood" flavor.

Thank you employer........
