Purdue Boilermakers

Last season, Purdue went 4-5 and placed 6th at the Big Ten Championships. The Boilermakers qualified 8 wrestlers into the NCAA Championships where they had 15.5 points for a tie for 26th. None of their wrestlers reached the podium with two making it to the round of 12 (Schroder and Penola).

This season, Purdue returns 9 out of their 10 starters from last season, including 7 of their 8 NCAA qualifiers. They have released their non-conference schedule which includes duals with Rider, Drexel, Cleveland State, Iowa State, Duke, Bellarmine and Northern Illinois (the latter 3 at the Boilmaker Duals). Purdue will also be going to Cliff Keen and Midlands.

The incoming recruiting class includes #74 Stoney Buell (MI), #90 Ben Vanadia (OH), #94 Dustin Norris (OH) {MatScouts rankings} and Matt Ramos transferring in from the Goophers.

Purdue has the distinction of having the creepiest mascot in Division 1 with Purdue Pete edging out OSU's Pistol Pete (there's a Peter joke here somewhere...) Anyway, here's the link.

Thanks for the preview, one note on Kendall Coleman is that while he technically went 1-2 at NCAAs he had to injury default and medical forefit for his two losses. Kid is super tough and if healthy should be on the podium this year.
