I had seen some of those statistics before. Seems like the gap in qualifiers between PA and the next best state is closer than in some years past. And I think some of us have been talking about how Illinois high school wrestling has been rising for years. You’d think Univ of Illinois should be capitalizing on that.

Actually, relative to population
The next most requested topic after NQs by state is NQs by state per capita. Here we express that topic in the number of qualifiers per million inhabitants of the state as per the 2022 census estimates.

It's also not our fault that TnT finally recognized that their best option for shoring up a collapsing program was to start recruiting more heavily in the state that historically produces the best quality wrestlers.
NQs per capita is meaningless, but NQs/Wrestling Participants for each state would be of some interest.
The per capita argument is the one Europeans always make when we’re leading the medal count at the Olympics. It’s a losers argument.
Edit new to this idk how to get this spreadsheet to work but states are in order alphabetically
PA could have half as many qualifiers and still would be outpacing Iowa, West Virginia surprisingly 2nd ahead of nj, Ohio, Illinois, Oklahoma
