Shane Simmons announced today that he is going to UN-RETIRE from Football and that he will transfer to another school for one last try at making it to the NFL. Good luck SHANE!
Crap. Makes me think he was sort of gently nudged towards 'retirement' by PSU. Why not stay at PSU? We could use the depth and experience.
because he wants meaningful playing time. He wasn't going to get that at Penn State. More than likely got passed up by the younger guys.
Simmons and family were Mr. Penn State. If he had a chance to make a difference he he would stay.
Perhaps he looked into the price of grad $chool and changed his mind.

Adjusting to college and the rigors of big time athletic program commitments doesn't go smoothly for every young man. Too bad JJ didn't work out well as he looked like a bigger CB that could have transitioned to Safety going forward if needed. At 6'2" his last reported wt. of 180 makes it look like he had trouble adding muscle.
Hope he finds some place to grow as a young man and a depth chart not as stacked....

I believe he’s the kid that told Saban last year that he wanted to transfer to Bama, and Saban said to wait until the one-time transfer rule gets the green light. Not sure why Buckeyes thought they were going to get him.
