2018 Recruiting Thread

A lot will probably open this and complain that it is too early for a 2018 recruiting thread, but I could care less.

2018 committments:
Micah Parsons - Defensive End - 5star recruit
Chris Bliech - Offensive Tackle - Plymouth, PA but attending IMG Academy in Florida (huge for recruiting help)

Other 2018 Penn State targets that already have a Penn State offer and PSU is currently probably in their top 3.
Depending on what happens in 2017 on the field, this 2018 could be the best class Penn State has brought in.

Matthew Bauer - 4star LB from Erie, PA - Crystal Ball 100% PSU
Phil Jurkovec - 5star QB from Gibsonia, PA - Will be making another visit to HV this weekend for BlueWhite
Ricky Slade - 5star RB from Woodbridge, VA - 2 visits to Penn State in last 2 months, more than any other school he visited
Jahan Dotson - 4star WR from Nazareth, PA - One of 3 BIG time WR targets in PA
Darryle Simmons - 4star WR from Philaelphia, PA - One of 3 BIG time WR targets in PA
Shaquon Anderson-Butts - 4star WR from Harrisburg, PA - One of 3 BIG time WR targets in PA (Believe he would be the closest to committing of the 3)
Zack Kuntz - 5star TE from Camp Hill, PA - Both older brothers (Christian and Brandon) played at PSU
Ademilola Twins - Both 4stars from Jersey City, NJ - Jayson is a DT, Justin is a LB - Both visited last weekend
Isheem Young - 4star S from Philaelphia, PA - Believe this one will come down to PSU or FSU
Kwantel Raines - 4star S from Aliquippa, PA - Still hasn't received many offers, but being a PA guy, we have a shot
Isaiah Humphries - 4star S from Sachse, TX - Dad played at Penn State and then the NFL

In interview on TOS Shaquon Anderson-Butts says he probably will end up at Penn State but wants to take a few more visits. He's a friend of Micah Parsons and Parsons has been urging him to commit.

If we can land Butts and Kuntz......the students should be able to make some clever signs... : )

But it could be problematic for the announcers. "Kuntz wide open and Stevens ignored him. " "Penn State's Butts just outstanding........" Butts looks large in that uniform......

I'm not sure why Hudl has that. It also has his FR as 2013, which is correct, but contradicts so in 2015, that video may have only been posted in 2015 but was footage of 2014, since he was at IMG in 2015. Anyway huge to get him back on campus. Has some family connections to PSU so hopefully that helps, cousin and an uncle I believe.

Bleich did well in the drills. A drill designed to make the OL look bad, Chris won at least 2 out of 3....the third one would have been a win for the DL, but the first one Bleich stoned the DL and probably would have pancaked him if the play had continued........

Big guy who can move who plays with a nasty streak......also showing that he can compete in a very high end Florida League shows that if he stays at it he will come to PSU as well prepared to play OL as any PSU OL Recruit that does not have Wisniewski as his last name.

Well, it's too early to know for sure but they are probably not getting Jones, Mustipher, Fontaine, or Sandidge. So, identifying more DTs to offer isn't a bad idea

I have two buddies that have insight here (one a teacher and another has kids the same age) and both have said that he could start at virtually any position on the team. He certainly has a huge upside at the DE position, but will play wherever the team needs him.
