Best places to eat in or near State College?

Glad to see this is still here. Was one we used to go to regularly when son was at school in 2012 or so, but haven't had a chance to go out to dinner in awhile. Usually only come up for games now and tailgating. Is Kelly's in Boalsburg still good? They had a nice gastro pub type menu for lunch.

    Nov. 11th @ 11 a.m.

I'll second this recommendation! Based on many positive reviews on this very board a few years ago, I made it a point to see this movie in the theater. Really good stuff.

10 years ago vs Illinois, Joe Paterno becomes the winningest coach in NCAA history. #409

So many thoughts running through my head thinking back on this game. My oldest son was a senior at Penn State in 2011. My wife and I went up to the game, we had club seats which were right behind that goal post...I think the grass lots were closed because of the snow/mud or am I confusing that...

OT: Another article on Scranton True Crime

I grew up in North Scranton/Marvine section and married a South Sider whose sister went to school with and knew Freach/Keen. I read the Atkinson one earlier, but I don't remember him, honestly.

OT: Another article on Scranton True Crime

That was an interesting read on Delfino. But what really caught my eye and attention was your post on "Who was William Wright?" and the Freach/Keen boys. I was only 10/11 years old when that all went down, but it was seared in my memory. I did not know all the background and details, just that...

Bullitt chase scene on TCM now!

Interesting read. I had only seen bits and pieces of the movie and chase scene over the years until on one of my last airplane trips in 2019 I got to see the whole movie. I'm a Mustang guy and I thought the Dodge Charger was a faster and the better car in that chase scene and the article...

COVID vaccine: who has had it?

Wife and I got Moderna #2 this past Saturday, so we are about 48 hours post vaccine. I had no side effect this time around. Not even a sore arm. Now the wife said she could feel the vaccine going in and up her arm and then her arm was immediately sore. So sore, she could barely lift it by the...

COVID vaccine: who has had it?

Wife and I got Moderna #1 at our local Walgreens this past Saturday. Quick, easy and efficient. Wife's arm was sore enough for her to complain about it. Mine just felt like a when you get a flu shot. No other side effects to report, thankfully. Scheduled for shot #2 March 13th.

    Schitts Creek

Wife and I just started and we are on Season 3! Really enjoying it. It's an easy watch. Episodes are only 20 minutes long. Reminds us of Arrested Development, somewhat.

Anyone ever ran into CJF in SC/my encounter today with a well known CFB person.

Yup, at the Dunkin on N. Atherton the Sunday morning after the Maryland game in November 2018. He was picking out a dozen donuts with his girls and I was behind him. As he turned to leave, I just said nice game last night Coach. It was just nice seeing him do "normal" things as a dad.

The Big House won't be filled for games this fall

Hey if we're getting a suite just for us immunosuppressed guys, count me in!!! I'm 58 and had a kidney transplant 14 years ago. I always try to go to at least one game a year, probably not this year, sadly.

OT: Off the beaten path, but interesting/historic US landmarks you have visited

In addition to many of the above, including the Archbald Pothole and the Windsor Inn, we were driving up to Quebec City with a planned overnight stop in Burlington, VT. We planned to take the car ferry from Port Kent on the NY side, across Lake Champlain, to the Vermont side in Burlington. Right...
