    OSU Bulletin Board Material

We seem to expect to lose to Ohio State. Maybe Franklin should show the team highlights of 63-14, the 1978 game, or even other teams beating down Ohio State to show that they’re not invincible. Reinforce that it’s normal for Penn State to beat OSU and that the recent state of affairs is...

    OSU Bulletin Board Material

Agree that the referining has a lot to do with it. Although we haven’t really been mistreated by the refs in an Ohio State game since 2014, there’s still the lingering feeling that, if the game comes down to the wire, the refs will make sure that Ohio State wins. This has abated much since the...

Dismal US soccer must be coaching

“NFL and NBA have the ncaa and high school as good feeder systems.” Are we really sure of that? Or is it just that there aren’t any other countries to compare our results to? I don’t want to open a can of worms by mentioning race, but why are foreign white basketball players better than...

Dismal US soccer must be coaching

It’s not unreasonable to think that LeBron could have been a world class goalkeeper. That’s the position where size is most important and where ball handling skill is least. On the other hand, is there any evidence that the elite foreign-born NBA players like Doncic or Giannis were any good at...

Dismal US soccer must be coaching

The most common reply here is that our best athletes play football, basketball, etc., but that overlooks how different the skillset required for soccer is from those sports. Our sports prioritize size, strength, and quick bursts of activity. Soccer prioritizes coordination, aerobic fitness, and...

    Sean Clifford threw 4 interceptions.

After all the complaining about Franklin’s focus on splash plays at the expense of consistent long drives where we win up front, it’s ironic that we matched up with OSU down for down (more yards, more first downs, did a great job of running on first downs) and lost due to OSU getting all the...

What happened to the D in the 4th quarter?

What were the results of the drives 0 was in vs the ones he wasn’t? I could be wrong, but it seemed like every drive that he played, OSU scored a touchdown, whereas they didn’t score a single one when he was on the bench.

Football GAMEDAY THREAD: Penn State vs. Ohio State

Thanks to Day’s poor decisions, that blatant uncalled hold doesn’t cost us anything.

I honestly don’t think it was a catch. TD! Looking very good.

Football GAMEDAY THREAD: Penn State vs. Ohio State

15.5 is a crazy line for this game. Honestly, I’m expecting something like 30-27 OSU, with a real chance of Penn State winning. Smith-Njigba being out really helps us. Him being out is significant enough that I think the line should have moved in response.

Football GAMEDAY THREAD: Penn State vs. Michigan

Reffing was fine today. Run defense was catastrophic. Maybe if we stacked the line at the start of the game and didn’t give up so many long drives, things would have been different.

We have to get Sutherland off the field.

Football GAMEDAY THREAD: Penn State vs. Michigan

I’d like to see the Corum possible fumbles and the uncalled PI in the end zone again. I’m not saying Corum fumbled, but it would have been nice to be able to see at least one replay.

Football STAFF PREDICTIONS: Penn State Football vs. Michigan

If fair refereeing were guaranteed, I’d predict Penn State wins 30-20. However, my “official” prediction is Michigan wins 24-20 on the back of a vintage referine performance.

Football STAFF PREDICTIONS: Penn State Football vs. Michigan

Two of the three interceptions (the two most important; the other ended up being a glorified punt) Clifford threw were due to defensive pass interference not being called. At around 48 minutes in, you can see the first blown call. At around 2 hours and 26 minutes in, you can see the second.

Joel Klatt on PSU VS Michigan

It beggars belief to say that the 2014 Ohio State-Penn State game wasn’t intentionally manipulated. Once you accept that that one game was rigged, it becomes much easier to believe that the other atrocious reffing decisions against Penn State were not accidents, either. That game was the smoking...

Joel Klatt on PSU VS Michigan

Did you see the 2014 Ohio State-Penn State game? Believing that game wasn’t rigged is like believing Epstein killed himself. Or maybe America just has a tendency to struggle with video feeds at really inconvenient times.

    Gene Smith complaining about officiating

Dear SEC, in retaliation for this stunt by the B1G officiating coordinator, can you please broadcast to the world a selection of classic B1G reffing “mistakes”? We wouldn’t want any conference of such poor standing to impugn your integrity again. And if, going forward, you become the unofficial...

    Gene Smith complaining about officiating

If you watch this video very slowly, as in frame by frame, you can see that the ball slightly moved in Ross’s hands after it looks like he first gained complete control of it. In particular, notice how his left pinky finger is outside the stripe and pretty much on the nose of the ball at first...
