    OT: Old pickup truck recommendations....

Not to completely hijack the tenor of this thread but hearing of local towns sounds funny as we just returned from 20 years in Ohio. We relocated to southern Chester County so NJ, DE, MD and PA names all come into play. An observation that only impact me most likely. PS: I have heard...

AKB: Is it safe to tear up old tax returns and put them in the garbage?

Absolutely. I just needed to retrieve several record's pre 2009. Thankfully we had retained our tax and other financial records to 2005. The day we destroy records seems to become a regretted day of infamy!

During the bowl games, you kept hearing , you can't blame these

It used to be a TEAM game. It was for most of the season, till bowl game season. I liked the days when it was completely a team game. What happened ed to the insurance policies for players?

Tom McAndrew --- you will be missed

I've enjoyed your post relating to American history, particularly the Revolutionary period. I end up conflating events at times but Tom always provided the correct information. Thank you for your efforts Tom.

A last update on my son before the world as we know it ends.

Best wishes for continued improvement for your son Monterey. Having a life long disability either makes you weaker or stronger, you and your son are giants!

longtime CLE radio talker Mike Trivisonno RIP

Thank you for posting the passing of Triv. I enjoyed his musings many times as they filled the late afternoon with laughter, information and general enjoyment. Triv was a giving type person with his charitable proclivities noted in the story. I for one will miss him, he is irreplaceable...

    Nov. 11th @ 11 a.m.

Agreed, while not planning to broach the punitive manner the Allies dealt with Germany it fueled a seething rage that was at least a portion of the run up to WWII. They certainly did not follow the Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The cost of that revenge...

Funny, the Maginot line was immovable, my hairline moves like the wind.

Earlier today I read a note that the shelling was maintained by both sides, ALL DAY. I suppose the only blessing was the latitude and time of year, a much shorter day.

She is a multitasker, but, I'd much rather he make a mistake on my hair than your molar! Best wishes to a "painless root canal"!

I'd rather have my hair cut vs your root canal.

    Nov. 11th @ 11 a.m.

My next scheduled hair cut is on Nov. 11th @ 11:00 a.m. I asked the lady who cuts my hair if she knew what that exact month/day/time meant in history? She returned a bland stare with a NO. Armistice Day. It was the last day and minute of WWI, all quiet on the western front. “At the 11th hour...

    Who did Michigan play?

Starting to sound like buckeyes after an infrequent loss, a fluke, but if we played two more quarters we would have won, if we played them again we win, if the ball didn't bounce their way we win, it was a fluke! rinse-repeat.

OT: On This Date in U.S. History

Good point, particularly on the large cotton producing plantations (farms). The cotton gin and other industrial revolution inventions e.g. the mechanical harvester were far less expensive than slaves and a major indicator to a trend toward mechanical vs more expensive manual labor, of any type...

50 years ago today (10/17) -- Great day for the Pirates

Watching Blass when the game ended was a display of pure joy. Much like our win over OSU in 2016, an outburst of joy over a wide area. Like the blast Maz hit a few days earlier in Oct., 1960, an outburst of joy pent up for many years. Moments like that are epic.

OSU QB Coach was @ Drew Allar's game Friday night.

We live 45 mins. from Medina and I constantly hear how skilled Allar happens to be. Skill, maturity and the ability to check down to secondary receivers, plus a good leader of the team.

    Home Depot or Lowe's

I can commiserate. Several years ago someone opened 21 checking accts. in our name and then 13 saving accts. and the big bank never noticed until we began receiving multiple account statements and made an inquiry. It took us the better part of a year to clean up that criminal activity. The...

    Tackle on Bijan Robinson

Robinson was blessed to not be permanently injured. The article states he jumped up and left the field. That doesn't mean he didn't have a major cervical injury or broken neck. I suffered a broken neck from a blow, then a fall off a ladder and jumped right up too. My boss saw it all and...

    Hell Just Froze Over!

I said the same, so many injuries to KEY players, it almost makes you wonder if a plan was in place to ............oh no, it's Ferentz, he is pure........NCAA wrist slap recently..........pure as the driven hog excrement he is surrounded by.
