Film Study - Andy Kotelnicki Sugar Huddles

Love it---need to be creative when you are sometimes over matched on the line. Hopefully AK has autonomy. No one says "Yeah, they only won cuz they ran trick plays"

    Masters Of The Air

Great write up as always Obliviax...I think your right on the main point that it wasn't about creating a story line from the Characters POV vs. a day in the life.. Many examples of this done quickly.. The opposite they could have dragged this on and on etc.. We the general public got to see...

    Masters Of The Air

Yeah that was the other concept that I never knew about which I find very interesting. Of course, I really didnt focus too much on the Air segment of WW2. I did read Fly Boys which was by James Bradley (father was one of the Iwo Jima Flag guys). The first few chapters were all about "Why" and...

    Masters Of The Air

I never knew or even heard about using the B17s as "Bait" so that we could cull the Luftwaffe. Interesting tactic. Further, Rosie's reluctance to simply go home after flying 25 missions-WOW. I believe that most would not simply go home unless they had wife and children-which would...

    Masters Of The Air

They are supposed to fly in a like diamond formation, as close together as possible. Hence the term flying fortress, which is intended to create a natural defense with the ability to provide intersecting fields of fire against oncoming planes coming at them.. Think about a plane passing by...

    Masters Of The Air

Easy and forgiving society-- progress and technology. I saw a meme the other day on instagram "Men 80 years ago killed themselves if they couldn't serve. Men now change their gender to compete in womans sports" Unreal....

    Masters Of The Air

What I thought---there is almost little to no skill of increasing your chances of survival....and how often do they make them fly missions. Its unreal. Again, the Greatest Generation.

    Masters Of The Air

When skydiving.. The cessnas are slower and u drop straight down hence u clear the tail.. Little different jumping from a c130 141 or a c47 doing 140mph..with no tail in the way of the aforementioned it rips u out like a horizontal slide till the shoot opens....in those bombers it's get out...

    Masters Of The Air

I thought the same thing at the beginning when they were at that half moon booth table dancing and ringing with those girls…they did narrate that they had been in basic together before the war….thats why they are majors in 1943 ;)
