Cael had a bible session with the guys before finals… and was riding the bike with Carter in the morning.
Also helps to have Bonnie and Dr. Dan in your corner. It’s as much a mental game as any because it’s so individual and his guys are so in the spotlight at every meet and every tournament...
Crazy to see that seeds
8, 6, 1, 4, 1, 4, 9, 1, 1, and 1 took titles from
3, 1, 2, 6, 2, 2, 6, 3, 2, and 10 seeds.
NCAA wrestling tournament is awesome!
Any good scuttle butt from the stands and gatherings of all the faithful on the annual pilgrimage? This is when you begin hearing about next year with transfers, coaching changes, recruits, sightings, etc..,
If I were NCAA wrestling, I’d send Cael on a November/December barnstorming tour to schools like LR, Liberty, etc… even with split squads. The Lions have elevated NCAA wrestling to new heights and the entire team takes the time to mingle with the kids because that’s the future. They get it. No...
Cstar shutout 2 champs and a finalist on one leg! Let that sink in…. He couldn’t be what we all have seen him be. Otherwise he would have destroyed all three. Remember what he did to Lewis in November?
I think BB and Kerk will return but don’t think CStar will because he doesn’t like going to school. It would be his best path to the 2028 Olympics though but he’s had a tough year with two knee injuries. Lilledahl is world champion! Davis will takeover for Nagoa in 25-26. SVN has been injury...
In the Cael era (14 tournaments), 24 times a team has hit 100+ team points. PSU has done it 12 times, Ohio State and Iowa are next at three times. These other teams are nowhere close to getting there consistently. Heck three teams did it in 2012 and still couldn’t beat PSU. PSU has 9 of the top...
My vote for next year
125 Lilledahl (Davis to RS then to 133)
133 *Nagao (if healthy he’ll be real good)
141 *Bartlett
149 Van Ness (Kasak RS?)
157 Mesenbrink
165 Haines
174 Facundo
184 Barr
197 Cochran (Con Mirasola RS)
285 *Kerkvliet
* seniors
Leave Iowa and everyone else alone… they are so far behind they aren’t even in the rear view mirror anymore because Cael has already turned the corner!
Watch it. The championships are in Philly next year and this program just keeps raising the bar. The competition is so far behind and that’s no knock on them. Cael has built the absolute definition of a dynasty that will not end anytime soon.
Only Carr tried to wrestle those six. All other opponents backed up most of the matches. Mendez did nothing just like at B1Gs. Beau is so close. MM had Carr on run and the score was confusing watching at home. At one time I looked up and it was 8-7 Mitchell. Oh well, the other 4 opponents scored...
