Nate Carr named Head Coach

at Ohio wrestling power Massillon Perry HS.

Carr, of course, is a PA HS legend from Erie who won 3 NCAA titles at Iowa State and then won Olympic Bronze in 1988.

The Carr family story is truly unbelievable. I believe there were 16 children - nine of which were boys who all participated in wrestling. Five were NCAA All Americans. Nate was a three time NCAA champ for Iowa State and won a bronze medal in Seoul in 1988. His brother Jimmy was the youngest wrestler ever to qualify for US Olympic freestyle team. Jimmy was killed in a car accident here in Erie a couple of years ago.

yes, he is a great guy... I wrestled for Clearfield and got to see Nate and Gary Belinda mixing it up in high energy and entertaining matches!
