Some had been wanting pictures of the putting green project I was working on, so I feel obliged to provide them. It came in at around 40,000 square feet - just shy of an acre. We're pretty much finished, and are moving on to an even larger project on Jupiter Island. Good times.

As for me and this board - I go back to plot-it, and it's not really the new format (which I don't like at all) that has soured me. It's the tone of some posters. Name calling is for children, and assumptions are for the ill-prepared and the uninformed.

But - like everything else - it is what it is. Here are some pictures and I wish everyone well.

BTW, thanks Tom McAndrew. Go Lions!

Wow, looks great. Hopefully you'll lurk and pop in every now and then, even if only to give us more updates on your future projects.

Great work. Happy Trails Mt. Nittany.

Mt. Nit - PLEASE stick around, there are many of us that enjoy your projects (this one was fabulous!) and your contributions to the Board. There are always some "undesirables" in ANY group of people, whether it's your neighborhood, your country club, your fan base, your PTA, even your church. (Hey, I'm sure I'm on many people's lists!)

If you are going to disappear from this Board for good (again, please reconsider), leave your name and number or real-life e-mail with my pro shop (I think you know where I'm a member). Would like to stay in touch. You can identify me as club member #31 OR the guy with 5 woods+3 putters.

Looks like a carpet. Beautiful job. All the best RF. I hope my Phillies can steal a good young player from your Marlins in exchange for Papelbon. Your team needs a good closer. We need that young talent.

Nice Pictures but I am very disappointed to see you leave. I have admired you for years now, since the day you had the nerve to stand strong in your support of a certain American Mom. I don't take note of many handles here but did yours. God speed to you.

MtNittany- Dont leave. I was in the same position you are now and stayed off the board about 11-12 days a week or 2 ago because of the same nonsense and name calling you describe. It becomes a bit much but rational posters need to stay to try and switch the behavior of some. Take a break a little while but hope you do decide to return. ;)

MtNitt - here's hoping that you reconsider. You've been a great member of the community since the last century. As you mentioned, you were there in the plotit.com days.

I've always enjoyed your insights on baseball (especially the Fish, Jack McKeon, their battles with the Phils, Cody Fing Ross), golf, Michael Jack Schmidt's time trying to be qualify for the PGA Seniors Tour, PSU, and life in general.

Should your departure be permanent, it's been an honor and a pleasure to have communicated with you over the years, to have read your posts, and to have followed your golf projects. I will miss you, and do hope that you'll reconsider, or that you'll take a break and then decide to give it another chance.

Tom

Beautiful project; sorry to see you go, mostly because we share many of the same views. I'd recommend finding the new way to ignore people and make liberal (pun intended) use of it. It has made my time here infinitely more tolerable. The down side is you'll end up missing about 75% of the posts on the board. The upside is you'll end up missing about 75% of the posts on the board!

In any case, best of luck to you.

I'm not around on this site much anymore either since the change. Count me among those who have enjoyed your posts and who will miss you. All the best!

Gonna miss you, brother. Hoping you stick and lurk and wait til the season starts before bowing out. BTW, nice pics!

Good work, MtNitt!!!

On the other subject, I agree that there are a significant number of over the top posters - kind of single issue voter types - dominating things on here of late. Like you, I've been around since plotit. I'd hate to see you go, but if that's the path you choose I wish you the best.

Amazing work, and this from someone who doesn't golf! With respect to your decision, can't argue. Been having the same thoughts, and it sort of is a waste of valuable time to banter back and forth with those having closed minds. Only reason I would continue to lurk is for news concerning C/S/S. As for caring about the future of Penn State, sports or otherwise, well, I've lost much of my zeal for that. Anyway, for the record I liked your posts. Good luck with the next project.

Always welcome here MtN. Great job on the latest project!

Like others, I hope you will reconsider and stick around. I have enjoyed your posts and the Board would be diminished by your departure. If your decision is final, all the best.

It looks great! Always meant to find a way to meet you for a beer at the Grouper, or Thirsty Turtle when I am down visiting the folks. Maybe someday. Just do as I have done, and lurk once in a while. It certainly has lost all of its fun, but I feel like I'm shunning family if I give it up completely.
