Anyone drop the vowel at the end of some Italian foods?

Mozzarell, Manicott, Locatell, Rocott, Rigaton, Antipast (are just a few). I've heard this is a NY/North Jersey thing but spread when The Sopranos popularized these expressions.

Occasionally from my Italian relatives & friends in the Philly area. I don't drop the vowel.

One of the funniest Sopranos is when they head over to Naples and find out they aren’t Italian. Italian ethnic background - sure; Italian - no

Paulie was so happy to get back to North Jersey after suffering insult upon insult from the natives

I don't mind when people drop the vowel, since they don't know better or that's just their dialect. But I have to laugh when I say it in proper Italian and they correct me!
